CHRISTIANS ARE DYING. NIGERIANS ARE SUFFERING. AND WE MUST NOT STOP ASKING QUESTIONS. 🇳🇬✝️
There is a painful reality we can no longer pretend does not exist: Christian communities in parts of Nigeria have suffered horrific killings, kidnappings, displacement and attacks on places of worship.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has documented persistent religious violence in Nigeria, including deadly attacks affecting Christian communities. Its 2026 reporting also documented major attacks in Benue, Plateau and Kaduna and warned about the continuing danger to religious communities.
Whether we call it genocide, persecution, religiously motivated violence or mass atrocities, one thing should never be controversial: the lives of innocent Nigerians matter.
A Christian should not have to fear being killed because of where they live or because they went to church.
And while we demand protection for our communities, we must also demand justice, due process and respect for human rights.
That brings me to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is currently serving a life sentence at the Sokoto Correctional Centre after his November 2025 conviction. His legal team has appealed the conviction, and questions about his treatment, access to legal representation and the fairness of the proceedings continue to attract public and international attention.
I personally believe his continued incarceration is unjust and that his case deserves transparent judicial scrutiny and full respect for due process.
We can condemn violence against Christians without hating Muslims.
We can demand justice for the South-East without calling for violence against anyone.
We can support Mazi Nnamdi Kanu while still insisting that every legal process must meet the highest standards of justice.
Nigeria belongs to all of us.
We want a country where Christians can worship without fear, where innocent people are protected, where communities are not abandoned, and where political disagreements are handled through justice—not oppression, violence or revenge.
LET JUSTICE SPEAK.
LET THE KILLINGS STOP.
LET HUMAN LIFE BE VALUED.
LET DUE PROCESS PREVAIL. 🇳🇬✝️
