KNSUBEB Commences Documentation for 4,000 Newly Recruited Teachers, 3,868 BESDA Facilitators:
The Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (KNSUBEB) has commenced the documentation exercise for 4,000 newly recruited permanent and pensionable teachers, alongside 3,868 Abba Gida-Gida BESDA Cohort V facilitators approved for employment by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The documentation exercise, which is taking place at the STP Centre of Sa'adatu Rimi College of Education, is being supervised by the Acting Executive Chairman and Permanent Commissioner I of SUBEB, Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho, who expressed satisfaction with the smooth coordination and orderly conduct of the screening and documentation process.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Daho stated that applicants from all the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State applied for the teaching positions and subsequently sat for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) as part of the recruitment process. He explained that only candidates who successfully passed the examination were invited for documentation.
He further noted that the successful candidates are expected to serve in their respective Local Government Areas of origin in order to strengthen teaching and learning at the grassroots level.
The Acting Chairman disclosed that the screening committee uncovered some candidates who presented fake credentials during the documentation exercise, leading to their immediate disqualification from the recruitment process.
Hon. Daho urged the successfully documented candidates to fear Allah, remain committed to their duties, and uphold honesty, discipline, and professionalism while serving in their various schools across the state.
He also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering commitment to the development of education in Kano State, describing the recruitment exercise as one of the largest teacher recruitment efforts witnessed in recent times.
According to him, the Governor has continued to demonstrate genuine passion and strong political will toward revitalizing the education sector through the recruitment of qualified teachers to address manpower shortages in public schools and improve access to quality basic education.
The recruitment initiative forms part of the Kano State Government’s broader efforts to strengthen the education sector, improve teaching and learning outcomes, and provide better educational opportunities for children across the state.
