Gov. Buni swears in 2 Perm. Secs. Auditor -General, Chairmen and members of commission

Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, today administered Oath of office two Permanent Secretaries Ibrahim Adamu Jajere of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, and Mohammed Inuwa Gulani of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

Addressing the newly sworn in functionaries, Governor Buni charged them to discharge their duties with extra commitment to support the government.

"To the chairman and Permanent Commissioners of the Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Sule Ado and Alhaji Waziri Yerima, Mallam Kyari Batarama, Alhaji Jibrin Babale, Alhaji Muhammed Kondoma and Hajiya Aisha Haruna Godowoli respectively, you have great roles to play to institute discipline and improve efficiency in local government administration to raise the standard of service delivery at the grassroots.

He added "Let me state with a sense of satisfaction that, Yobe state has performed creditably well in Hajj operations in the previous years. Indeed, we have become a role model in Hajj operations in Nigeria. Therefore, much is expected from Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, the Chairman and Alhaji Adam Arjo Kayeri member of the Hajj Commission to contribute selflessly to further improve our already high-ranking performance.

Buni said "As you are aware, Yobe state is today adjudged the second-best state in Sub-national Audit Efficacy index in Nigeria, the appointment of Mai Aliyu Umar Gulani, a thorough-bred professional as the Auditor-General of the State, is expected to improve our performance for Yobe State to become the best state in Nigeria.

7. Similarly, I have no doubt that the appointment of Alhaji Abbani Gambo as a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission; Alhaji Wakil Maina Machina Permanent Member of the Civil Service Commission; and Alhaji Ballama Budu Permanent Member Teaching Service Board, would be advantageous to the respective departments.

8. As l congratulate you all, l equally urge you to abide by the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance administered to you a few moments ago. You should dedicate yourselves to the responsibilities of your offices, and contribute to the success of our administration.

9. Let me also stress that you are expected to be in tune with the policies and programmes of this administration, and to be on the same page with our policy of prudent management of resources. You should imbibe the spirit of teamwork for a collective realization of our set goals.

10. I wish you Allah's support and guidance for a successful tenure of office.

Gov. Buni Charge Newly sworn-in High Court Judge, Kadi to execute their duties with fear of God

Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, has charged newly sworn in High court Judge,
Justice Adamu Mohammed Jajere and Kasim Mohammed Kasim, Khadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, to have the fear of God in executing their duties in their new offices.

He stated this today at the swearing in ceremony of the two Judicial officers in Damaturu.

"I am pleased to state that your appointments were based on merit. I, therefore, have no doubt that you will use your wealth of experience to execute the duties of your office with a high sense of responsibility and competence.

"May I remind you that this is a huge trust vested in you by your creator, to whom you will account for your actions. Therefore, you should be fair, just and most importantly have the fear of Allah (SWT) in executing your duties" he said.

Gov. further urged the officers to be fair and just "As the saying goes, "the Judiciary is the last hope of the common man”. It is expected that your appointments as a Judge of the High Court and Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, will contribute to the quick dispensation of justice to avoid the scenario of "Justice delayed, is Justice denied".

He explained that "ln Yobe state, we enjoy a very excellent working relationship between the Executive and Judicial arms of government, l enjoin you to work in harmony with your colleagues and staff and contribute to the peaceful relationship between the two arms of government for the benefit of the good people of Yobe state.

"Let me also reassure you of the state government's commitment to supporting the Judiciary to discharge its duties effectively and efficiently to promote quick dispensation of justice. This government under my watch will be alive to its responsibilities for justice to be promoted" he stressed.

SSG Inaugurate Committee for Swearing-inn of Governor Buni's Second Term

Earlier today, Secretary to the State Government Baba Malam Wali mni who is also the Chairman, Inauguration Committee for the Second Term of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON and his Deputy His Excellency Idi Barde Gubana has inaugurated members of the State Steering Committee in his office.
The SSG said that, the membership of the committee was carefully constituted based on the competence and diligence of each member. The enormous task before the committee is undoubtedly predicated on the confidence reposed in its composition to successfully pave way for the Executive Governor and his Deputy to re-embark on delivering purposefully for the State in a unique and memorable ceremony comes 29th May, 2023.
He maintained that, the 35 member committee is assigned to organise a befitting Swearing-inn Ceremony for the governor and his Deputy and to identify personalities to be invited. The Committee will among other things, arrange and provide all necessary logistics for the smooth conduct of the programme as well as appointing relevant sub-committees.
