Burkina Faso has established its first gold refinery following the takeover of its gold mining sector and the setup of a domestic production facility. The nation has successfully introduced its first homegrown gold bars, refining 142 tonnes of mining residues to extract 93kg of gold. This achievement has generated 100 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect jobs, thereby boosting local employment and economic development.
