The Nigerian Institute of Builders Jigawa State Branch, has conducted its election to usher in new executive members to steer the affairs of the association in the state.
The newly elected Chairman, Builder Rabilu Abdu Gwaram, expressed deep appreciation to the outgoing executives for their commitment and service to the association.
He called for the continued cooperation and support of all members, pledging to run an open-door administration aimed at advancing the objectives of the Institute in Jigawa State.
The newly elected executives are as follows Builder Rabilu Abdu Gwaram as Chairman, Builder Sani Umar as Vice Chairman and Builder Abdurahaman Datti as Secretary General. While Builder Hashimu Sarki -Financial Secretary, Builder Ali Abdulkabir – Treasurer, Builder Yakubu Yunus – Secretary, Research and Design, Builder Isah Habibu – Public Relations Officer, Builder Muhammad Ubali Hadejia and Builder Shuaibu Na Abba – Auditor and Assistant Secretary General respectively.
In his remarks, the outgoing Chairman, Builder Hon. (Dr.) Muhammad Uba, who is also the Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government Council, thanked members of the association for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure, which he described as fulfilling and impactful.

The trade union Congress of Nigeria [TUC] Jigawa State Council has elected new executives to run its affairs for the period of four years.
Those elected include Comrade Ali Sa’adu as Chairman, Bilkisu Magaji Vice Chairman, Ahmed Yahaya Secretary General and Isah Hashim Assistant Secretary.
Others are Aliyu Muhammed treasurer, Habu Magaji Financial Secretary and Abdulsalam Ibrahim Public relation officer.
In his post election speech, the newly elected chairman, Comrade Ali Sa’adu thanked members for given him the mandate and urged them to support him to move the union forward.
The election was presided by the T.U.C National publicity Secretary Comrade Nuhu Abba Toro.

29-10-2025 GOVERNOR
Governor Umar Namadi has been commended for his administration’s commitment and huge investment running into billions of naira towards the digital transformation of government operations in Jigawa State, in line with global best practices.
The Director-General of the State Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau, Professor Kasim Muhammed, made the remarks at the 7th Annual Procurement Forum and official inauguration of the E-Procurement Portal, held at the Manpower Development Institute, Dutse.
He described the Annual Procurement Forum as a vital platform for stakeholders to converge, share experiences, and deliberate on key issues affecting public procurement processes in the state.
He commended Governor Namadi for his consistent support to the Bureau and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and protection for him as he drives the state’s digital governance reform agenda.
Inaugurating the newly developed E-Procurement Portal, the Commissioner for Finance, Professor. Hannatu Sabo, who represented the Governor at the occasion, noted that Jigawa State is among the few states in Nigeria that have adopted and formally signed onto the national E-Procurement Program.
She emphasized that the state government has invested substantially to establish and sustain the digital procurement system aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public financial management.
Professor Hannatu further noted that the E-Procurement initiative represents a major step forward in Governor Namadi’s vision to strengthen governance through technology-driven systems that minimize human interference and enhance public confidence in government processes.
The event also featured technical paper presentations by professionals on various aspects of the E-Procurement process and its implications for improving service delivery and institutional performance in Jigawa State.
The forum was attended by the Special Adviser on Project Monitoring, Hon. Usman Haladu Kanya; Government Representative, Hon. Mustapha Ahmad Jahun; as well as representatives from various ministries, civil society organizations, contractors, clerics, and members of the media.

29-10-2025 SCHOOLS MONITORING
Executive Chairman of the State Senior Secondary Education Board Dr. Abubakar Sabo Yushau, has paid an unscheduled visit to Government Day Secondary School, Sindimina, in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
During the visit, the Executive Chairman interacted with the school principal, teachers, and students, assessing both academic performance and the condition of school facilities.
Dr. Abubakar Sabo Yushau explained that the visit was part of the Board’s ongoing strategy to strengthen monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, ensuring that all senior secondary schools in the state operate in accordance with government policies and educational standards.
According to him, the visit was to evaluate and assess the effectiveness of teaching and learning, as well as to focus on teachers’ commitment and students’ attendance, noting that minor challenges were observed, which will be promptly addressed and the Board Officials extended similar supervision to Kazaure Zone.
In a related development, a delegation from the board led by Permanent Member I, Malam Abdullahi Hudu, conducted monitoring visits to senior secondary schools across the Kazaure Zone.
At the end of the exercise, Malam Abdullahi Hudu expressed satisfaction with the high level of commitment displayed by teachers and school administrators, urging others to rededicate themselves to duty and uphold professional ethics.
However, he expressed displeasure over the conduct of the principal and teachers of Government Day Secondary School, Dandi, who were not present in the school after 9:00 a.m, and therefore directed the concerned staff to report to the Board Headquarters on Wednesday for further action.
He also warned that the Board would no longer tolerate negligence or absenteeism among teachers and school heads.
During the monitoring exercise, the team comprising Permanent Member II and several Directors of the Board visited GDSS Dandi, GDSS Gada, and GGUSS Kazaure. Other schools visited included GUSS Roni, GGDSS Roni, and GDSS Dansure in Roni Local Government Area.
The inspection which covered classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, and student hostels, Malam Abdullahi Hudu reiterated the Board’s commitment to improving teacher welfare, capacity building, and the provision of instructional materials to enhance teaching and learning efficiency.
He reaffirmed the Board’s determination to continue its school visitation programme periodically across all educational zones, as part of efforts to strengthen supervision, accountability, and quality service delivery in the state’s education sector.
Malam Abdullahi further appealed to teachers and principals to rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and reciprocate the government’s commitment to providing quality education in Jigawa State.
In their separate remarks, the principals of the schools visited commended the Board for its proactive approach, describing the visit as timely and motivating as they assured the Board of their continued cooperation and commitment to raising academic standards in their respective institutions.

Jigawa state ACRESAL Project is to extend its erosion control program to the 27 local government areas of the state.
The state project coordinator Ambassador Yahaya Muhammad Uba Kafin gana stated this today when he received a delegation of Attawamie community in Miga local government area who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Represented by the project engineer, Engineer Ado Yusuf said the aim of expanding erosion control project is to safeguard lives and property of people in the state.
Ambassador Yahaya Uba assured the Attawamie community that they will be among beneficiaries of ACRESAL erosion control in the next financial year.
Earlier the Village Head of Attawamie, Alhaji Shehu Suleiman said the purpose of the visit is to seek for the support of ACRESAL on the menace of erosion that threatens the community.
Also speaking spokesman of the delegation, and Chief Medical Director Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kudu, Dr. Adamu Abdullahi Attawamie commended ACRESAL project for its tireless effort in addressing environmental, water and agricultural issues in the state.
Represented by the Director Administration and Finance of Jahun General Hospital Sani Sa`idu Aujara, Attawamie reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate with ACRESAL to achieve the desired mission.

Jigawa state government has increased the number of beneficiaries of monthly cash transfer from 150 to 200 in each political ward in the state.
Governor Malam Umar Namadi announced this today while flagging-off the state old age social protection scheme in Dutse local government secretariat.
Governor Umar Namadi said the state government has reviewed the monthly allowance form seven thousand naira to ten thousand naira each, adding that the gesture was aimed at reducing economic hardship faced by the elderly in the society.
In his speech the Speaker Jigawa state House of Assembly Right Honorable Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin commended the executive for introducing the scheme to support vulnerable group in the society.
In a vote of thanks, chairman of Dutse local government council and the state ALGON chairman, Dr. Sibu Abdullahi described the scheme as one of the best and called on other states to emulate for the benefit of their people.
Each of the 5,740 beneficiaries will receive sixty thousand naira.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with newsmen expressed gratitude to the state government for coming to their aid and pledged to make good use of the assistance.
