Jesus taught a higher law of love, mercy, and forgiveness, which stands in contrast to the Old Testament law given through Moses: “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also” (Matthew 5:38-39, KJV) He further declared: “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9, KJV). Rather than seeking vengeance, Christ calls us to embrace peace and love, reflecting His mission as the Prince of Peace. His teachings invite us to choose compassion over hostility. Every Member is a Missionary.
