GAS TURBINE HAS NOT SUPPLIED ELECTRICITY TO YENAGOA. DISREGARD EYE SERVICE MEDIA AIDES POSTS

The 4 feeders from the gas turbine station, the breakers are yet to be connected to the existing power lines.

One (1) breaker in front of the old commissioners quarters Opolo, close to the PHEDC office is not connected to the existing power lines.

The second (2) breaker at Opolo roundabout by express is not connected yet to the existing power lines...

The third (3) breaker within the Opolo market road, is yet to be connected to the existing power lines.

The fourth (4) feeder at Tombia roundabout axis is also not connected to the existing power lines.

TCN control substation is the one still supplying light to Yenagoa because they are yet to open those breakers from the TCN control substation.

Until these connections are made, for now no turbine light is running in Yenagoa.

So for the turbine light to start running those connections must be made and the people in charge of the Bayelsa State gas turbine must go to the TCN control substation along NLNG road Obunagha to open the breakers permanently.
..and the four (4) Feeders from the gas turbine station must be connected to the existing power lines.

The gas turbine is waiting for a test run during the day of commissioning.

​A Leadership Vacuum and "Self-Retirement"
​The controversy appears to stem from the reported passing of Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. Magbisa made the startling admission that he has viewed his role as essentially over since the Deputy Governor’s death.
​“I ceased to see myself as commissioner immediately the late Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo passed on,” Magbisa stated.
​He suggested that the loss of the Deputy Governor created a political gray area, leading him to distance himself from active duties even before the salary issues began.
​Security Concerns and an Abrupt Exit

The commissioning of the Gas turbine will be a very significant milestone of this administration and therefore must be done without hitches thats why i think that such a huge project should have been put on at least a month or two weeks to the commissioning for people to see and the use the opportunity to deal with teething challenges that arise with early start of machines and projects like this

eg there is a huge transformer crisis that need state government intervention to make the light truly meaningful to bayelsans, most transformers are overloaded, vandalised or unavailable to some areas

Wires and poles need replacement or rewiring , proper connections are done so when the light comes on after the commissioning it will remain for a while and not put it on for the president to commission then the light goes off afterwards.

The state airplane is a bitter experience where proper due diligence was not done and its has become difficult to defend since commissioning.

The light itself or whatever project is meant for bayelsans and so validation should be by us bayelsans and no one else.

Bayelsa Man Dies After Receiving 40 Strokes Of Cane For Allegedly Ra**ng 10-Year Old Girl.

A 47-year old man identified as Mr. Emi Sigah, has died at Ekeowe community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Wednesday , March 25, 2026 after recieving 40 strokes of cane for allegedly ra**ng a 10-year old girl.

Our correspondent learnt that it had been an age long tradition in Ekeowe for a culprit of r**e to receive 10 strokes of the cane from each of the 12 families that made up the community amounting to an aggregate of 120 strokes as a measure for curbing the sacrilegious act.

It was gathered that the r**e victim (name withheld) had accompanied her aunt to a nearby farm to pluck Okra when she was allegedly ambushed by the culprit while her unsuspecting aunt was in front of their way from the farm.

The suspect, we learnt, was caught allegedly fi*****ng and sexually molesting the toddler in a nearby bush.

We gathered that an individual in the community offered N50,000 Naira while another offered N15,000 as an alternative for the flogging but community folks insisted that the tradition must be followed to serve as a deterrent to others.

In fulfilment of the old culture, EE TV learnt that the r**e suspect was subjected to a 120 marathon flogging exercise but fainted after enduring 40 strokes and was later confirmed dead.

According to Mr. Ayebaitari Easterday, Chief Press Secretary to the chairman of southern Ijaw council Area, Mr. Target Segibo, normalcy has returned to the community with the timely intervention of the chairman in collaboration with security operatives.

He hinted that the youth president of the community and three others have been arrested in connection with the death of the r**e suspect and taken to the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Bayelsa State Police Command in Yenagoa.

Mr.Easterday added that the police in Oporoma town, headquarters of Southern Ijaw LGA in company of council officials have evacuated the body of the suspect and deposited it at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, the state capital.

He said council condemned the action of the community youths, describing it as alien to modern laid down processes of handling criminal cases, urging the people to report criminal suspects to the appropriate authorities instead of taking laws into their hands.

"As much as Council do not alligned with the repugnant attempted r**e of the minor, the action of the youths is alien.
" It would have only been commendable if they had reported the matter to security agencies for the law to take its course.
"The Council chairman is presently on a trip outside the state to attend the zonal and national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC),so he was represented by a high power delegation of the Council headed by the Special Adviser on Security Matters.
"And of course security agents were very helpful in curbing the would -have been explosive crisis.

" We salute the affected family and the Ekowe community for embracing peace and not allowing the matter to escalate ", Easterday said.

As at the time of writing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Musa Mohammed told our correspondent that he was yet to get details of the incident, promising to call back later.

Electoral Act 2026

Act 85
A political party shall not impose nomination, qualification or disqualification
criteria, measures, or conditions on any aspirant or candidate for any election in its
constitution, guidelines, or rules for nomination of candidates for elections.

The above provision means that, political parties no longer have the powers of imposing sole candidate, No individual not even a governor has the powers to impose a candidate.

Act 87 cap 1

(1) A political party that adopts a consensus candidate shall secure the written
consent of all cleared aspirants for the position, indicating their voluntary
withdrawal from the race and their endorsement of the consensus candidate.

Act 87 means that, all the candidates for an election or primary must sign a consent paper to ensure the legality of that primary election. if not, it create a loophole of legal lapses which means that primary election can be challenged.

All these are to ensure that, imposition of candidates becomes difficult. So remove the idea of government candidate, governor's candidate. A candidate can only be negotiated out with his consent.
