TOPIC: THE POWER OF SACRIFICE.

Ruth 1:12-18
12 Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
13 Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.
14 And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
15 And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.
18 When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

Don’t sacrifice your tomorrow to live for today, sacrifice your today to live for tomorrow. If you know how glorious the content of your future is, you will not give up now in pursuit of destiny and neither will you hesitate to sacrifice anything as divinely commanded to get there.

You can’t go further than you are ready to sacrifice. There is the promise and the prosperity, and the process of converting the promise to prosperity is sacrifice. If it can’t go out from you to Him, it can’t also come out of Him to you.

Ruth said, entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee. Sacrifice means ability to give up (most often your comfort) in order to go up. How much you are ready to sacrifice will determine your placement in life and ministry. Ruth had to let go of her local comfort zone for a generational comfort zone. Every great accomplishment has a price tag. There is no cheap road to success. Every time you look for short cut is a sign that you are looking for short life. There is a lifting attached to every sacrifice; you will not go weary again in Jesus Name.

You can’t go far holding to your comfort zone. Remember, it took Noah 120 years to build the ark – what a sacrifice! What are you ready to let go for the next phase of your life? Is it gluttony or prayerlessness? Is it filthiness or rebellion? Is it stinginess or laziness? Is it malice or backbiting? Is it money or property? The list is endless.

The only way to avoid a regrettable future is to learn to sacrifice for that desired future. Those that have the power to lay it down are those that will be empowered to take it up. You can never sow in tears and not reap in joy. Power to lay it down so you can take it up is your portion from now on in Jesus Name. RESTORATION IN JESUS' NAME!

PRAYER: I reject the spirit of stinginess and self-centeredness in my life and ministry in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: There shall be an uncommon testimony for you this week in Jesus Name. AMEN.

TOPIC: HABITS OF A SLUGGARD (2).

Proverbs 24:30-31
I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.

We’ll look at other habits of a sluggard today to conclude this series on the subject of sluggishness.

Another habit of a sluggard is that he wants to reap where he has not sown.

Proverbs 20:4 says; the sluggard do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.”

The sluggard is someone who wants to reap where he has not sown. Such person has not invested hugely in any business but he wants to reap huge sum of money.

To be frank, he knows he has not invested his time and efforts on his children, but he wants to have wonderful, obedient and God-fearing children. He will not plant when others are planting but hopes to reap from what others have planted. My friend, avoid this bad habit.

The last habit of a sluggard is that he does only what is convenient.

Proverbs 6:9-11 says; “How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”

Is sleeping not convenient? It’s so convenient. You just need to get a bed and lay down and sleep. So, a sluggard prefers whatever is not adventurous, difficult and cumbersome.

If God appears to him and tells him to go to villages to preach, he will not go there. He would rather go back to God in prayers and tell him that he would prefer a civilized place to preach the gospel.

A sluggard will prefer the Ponzi scheme than to work hard and grow his business with determination and endurance.

Change now! These habits will not make her victim achieve great things in life. You're not created to be useless. There can be no gain without pain. Consciously and deliberately avoid sluggishness. You will be very great in Jesus' Name.

PRAYER: Lord help me to overcome slothfulness in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: Your star will keep shining from glory to glory in the Name of Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The sluggard is attractive to insults.

TOPIC: HABITS OF A SLUGGARD.

Prov 13:4
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

One major habit of a sluggard is that he/she over sleeps.

Anyone who sleeps excessively is a sluggard. Yes, it is good to take rest but its abuse means slothfulness. Hiding under the guise of taking rest to sleep like someone who is in a sleeping competition is slothfulness.

Proverbs 19:15 says; ”Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.”

Laziness has a way of prompting deep sleep. So if you are sleeping too much and you are not concerned, it may be a sign that you need deliverance.

Another habit of a sluggard is that he/she leaves everything unkempt.

Proverbs 24:30-31 has the best description; “I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.”

You can easily identify a sluggard when you enter his/her room. Such a person will scatter everything around. Check his/her sitting room or bedroom, it will be littered without him cleaning it up. Also, his clothes are rumpled, hairs are left unkempt and his shoes unpolished.

Receive strength to be an uncommon performer in Jesus' Name.

PRAYER: I shall be diligent and shall not be weary in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: God’s mercy and favour shall prevail over your matter this weekend in the Name of Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The sluggard is a living fool!

TOPIC: WORK HARD!

Prov 10:4
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

David Bly said; striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t sown. The word ‘work’ appeared more than 500 times in the Bible, in other words every lazy person will end up a pauper. You can’t be lazy and have a lion share in the good things of life.

In Prov 12:24; the Bible says, “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.” Laziness makes you serve your equals. Laziness limits your potential and marries you to avoidable embarrassment.

Faith without works is death. Faith without works strips its victim of honour and dignity. Jesus said my Father works and I worked. Fasting and prayers cannot take the place of diligence it can only empower it for maximum results. Faithfulness minus diligence is equal to fallacy that culminates in decadence.

Jesus is full of faith and power and at the same time a committed worker. The bane of our society is that everybody wants pleasure but nobody wants pressure. Whereas, every sweet juice inside an orange comes out of pressure and every of life’s promotion comes out of a well-handled examination. The harder you work the luckier you become.

Remember, only labourers deserve wages not onlookers. You don’t just talk about diligence you are to BE DILIGENT! You are responsible for your success or your failure. You have nobody to blame but you. May God strengthen you more and more in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, please baptize me afresh with Your strength for greater performance in Jesus Name.

I PROPHESY: Nothing shall hinder your manifestation again in Jesus Name. AMEN.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Faithfulness minus diligence is equal to fallacy that culminates in decadence.

TOPIC: PROSPERING IN EVERYTHING.

Psalm 1:3
They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper (NRSV).

Large trees represent power, majesty and stability. Have you ever noticed the difference between a tree planted by the water and a tree far away from water? The tree next to the water is much more healthy and vibrant. Its fruits blossoms and are more beautiful.

In the Scripture, the Word of God is compared to water. When you are “planted” in the Word of God, your spirit is fed, and you grow strong just like the tree planted by the water. Trees planted by the water will yield fruit in the right season and will not lose strength. Today’s verse tells us that those who love and obey the Lord will prosper in whatever they do.

Do you want to prosper in your relationships? Seek God’s Word regarding relationships. Do you want to prosper in your health? Seek God’s Word about healing. Do you want to prosper in your finances? Seek God’s Word regarding finances. As you seek God and His Word and follow His commands, you will grow strong and prosper in everything you do! IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

PRAYER: This Book of the Law shall no more depart from my mouth in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: You will end this year stronger and better in the Name of Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The wisdom of the Word of God is the only solution to the problem of our world.

TOPIC: THE STRUGGLE IS OVER!

Gen 32:22-30
22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Everything that has a beginning will surely have an end. There is no problem without an expiry date as long as God is involved. Your present challenge may be lasting but it is not everlasting: for our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2Cor 4:17).

Brethren, if God can terminate the struggle of Jacob and made even a nation out of it for him, then your present challenges is not special compared to what the power of God can do. I am led of the Holy Ghost to let you know today that YOUR STRUGGLE IS OVER!

I see God given you a new name. I see God terminating your struggle. The God of Jacob is turning your mourning into dancing and sorrow into joy. Dry bone is rising again! You are singing a new song this month! Your health and vitality is hereby restored! You shall no more be ashamed! The struggle is over! Hallelujah!

Looking at the antecedent of Jacob, he was not supposed to be the one that will enjoy such kind of favour from God. But one thing with God is that when He makes His choice sometimes it doesn’t make sense. God does not see the way man seeth. Be assured today that Jehovah God has chosen to terminate your struggle and there is nothing any devil can do against it. Nothing will stop your manifestation in Jesus Name. IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU!

PRAYER: By the blood of Jesus, every strange struggle related to my star is destroyed now by fire in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: Divine favour that terminates strange struggle is your portion now in Jesus Name. AMEN.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy is coming in the morning.

TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU DESIRE?

Prov 10:24
…but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

What do you desire? Because what you don’t desire you don’t deserve. Change of level can never come until you have a desire.

Desire is a thirst, a craving, an appetite to stretch for something greater than you are right now. Desire is not something you can give to someone; it has to originate from within the person himself.

Whatever happens to a man depends on what he is willing to put into himself and his calling. If he is happy as he is, then, that is all he will ever be. But if he has an inward desire to be more than he is, he will never be satisfied to remain unchanged.

There is no great thing you desire in order to bring glory to God and a blessing to humanity that you cannot possess. What you desire is what distinguishes you.

1 Kings 9:11
Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, ACCORDING TO ALL HIS DESIRE…

There is nothing you desire that can intimidate God; He’s more than enough to grant you all your heart desires as long as it is in line with His will.

What is your desire? You don't deserve what you don't desire! Your greatness is sure in Jesus' Name.

PRAYER: My Father and my God, according to Your Word, grant my heart desire of greatness in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: This week shall be a very fruitful week for you in Jesus Name. Amen.

TOPIC: ALWAYS BE THANKFUL.

Luke 17:18
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

Relatively few people who receive the goodness of the Lord return to give Him thanks for what He has done. That does not keep the Lord from doing what is right for us. It was not just the one who was thankful that Jesus healed, He healed all ten of these lepers according to their request. However, the thankful one out of the ten that was made ‘whole.’

The Lord desires that we prosper in spirit, soul, and body. He wants us to be whole – not just healed. Part of the reason God meets our physical needs is to prove to us His willingness and ability to meet our emotional and spiritual needs. The Lord is concerned about our temporal needs (Mt. 6:30), but He is even more concerned about our eternal needs. All of these lepers needed physical healing and the Lord was moved with compassion and met their need.

He was also desiring to meet their spiritual needs, but only one out of the ten came back for that.

Being unthankful is always a sign that self is exalting itself above God. A selfless person can be content with very little. A self-centered person cannot be satisfied. Thankfulness is a sign of humility and cultivating a life of thankfulness will help keep ‘self’ in its proper place.

Thankfulness to the Lord for what He is and what He has done is a very important part of the Christian life. One of the many benefits of thanksgiving and praise is that they keep us from being self-oriented.

Giving thanks is a totally unselfish action and is a key to relationship with the Father that makes us ‘whole’ and not just ‘healed.’ No matter what, always be grateful! The Lord favor you greatly in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lift your voice and give God quality praise in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: God will surprise you with an uncommon miracle this month in the Name of Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: An unthankful person is a proud person.

TOPIC: THE WONDER OF KNOWLEDGE.

2 Peter 1:2
Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord (NIV).

It has been said that knowledge is power but I strongly believe that the use of knowledge is more powerful. Knowledge is not only meant to be resident within but to be put to work without in order to generate uncommon results.

There can be no greater accomplishment without putting knowledge to work. You can be a slave in your palace if you lack proper knowledge of your placement therein. You can be trekking with your kingly anointing because of lack of adequate knowledge while your supposed servant is riding on horse.

Nothing multiplies without the proper use of knowledge. Nothing can work in your favour that you are ignorant about. Proverbs 13:15 says; “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” The way of the ignorant is hard. Ignorance equals hardship.

Bishop David Oyedepo said, “There is no mountain anywhere; every man’s ignorance is his mountain.” Knowledge will always attract favour. You can’t find the good word of the Lord and miss goodness. Wonderful favours are attracted by the knowledge of the truth. You will not fail in Jesus’ Name.

To succeed is easy once you have the proper knowledge of what you want to succeed at and give yourself to it. Ignorance is the reason for failure in any area of life while sound knowledge gives life. You will excel greatly in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER: O Lord my Father, please grant me revelations in the knowledge of Your Word in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: You will not miss your palace in Jesus Name. AMEN.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: There is no mountain anywhere; every man’s ignorance is his mountain.

TOPIC: DON’T LOSE CONTROL!

Genesis 2:17.
But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.

If you have ever visited a swimming pool, a zoological garden, or a beach at the ocean, there is always a limit to the extent you can go. There are ‘no go’ areas. For instance, on a sandy beach, there is a safe area of water cordoned off by series of plastic buoys connected to a thick rope. Attached to the rope, a heavy-duty net ensures that a child or any visitor or inexperienced swimmer does not go beyond this point. As long as a swimmer or whoever is there stays within the stipulated boundaries, everything is fine. But beyond that point is danger, risk or death.

In life, there are boundaries, there are ‘no go’ areas. Ask any outstandingly successful person, there are boundaries he/she does not cross, either self-imposed or imposed by an authority. A life without control is like that of a vehicle without break – any bad thing can happen to it. There are things you can do and there are things you must never do! There are places you can go and there are places you must never go! A life of no control is a dangerous life. Boundaries enable you to focus; it protects you, enhances discipline and helps you to work to pattern.

In the Garden of Eden, there were restrictions-God specifically instructed Adam and Eve on fruits they must not touch; this was God – imposed boundary. Also, in Genesis 39:9, Potiphar handed everything he had over to Joseph, except his wife – this is another ‘no go’ area. For you to be successful, for your career to thrive, for your marriage to succeed and above all for you to make heaven, there are boundaries you dare not cross. There are instructions you dare not violate, there are areas you must not encroach into: there are things you must not do, say, touch, there are places you must not be found.

Staying within stipulated boundaries requires self-discipline. Playing around areas that can destroy your focus, jeopardize your health, make God annoyed with you, or around that which will jeopardize your financial health or working outside areas of your gifting is going beyond your boundaries. Put a restriction on yourself. Consciously stop yourself when you start doing things that are not in God’s interest. Avoid crossing the ancient landmark set for us by the Word of God, it is dangerous. You will not go down in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: By the grace of God, I shall not work outside God’s blueprint for my life in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: Those that will help you greatly will remember you this week in the Name of Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A life of no control is a dangerous life!

TOPIC: THE POSITIVE SIDE OF DISAPPOINTMENT!

Gen 37:23-2823
23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they strip Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;
24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.
25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.
26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.
28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

Disappointment is a phase and not an end in itself. Robert Kiyosaki said, “The size of your success is measured by the size of your dreams and how you handle disappointments along the way.” I have learnt that most times, to succeed in life, you need ENEMIES!

Yes, you need people who will mock you, so that you can run to God. you need people who will try to intimidate you, so that you can be courageous! You need people who will say “NO” so that you can learn how to do it yourself. You need people who will disappoint you once in a while so that you can put all your trust in God alone.

Do you know if there had been no disappointment, most of the great inventions and corporations we are celebrating today wouldn’t have been? People of God, you need people who will “betray or sell you out” like Joseph so that you can become a preserver of destinies. Yes, sometimes, you need a cruel landlord, so that you won’t be too comfortable in someone else’s house until you build your own.

Sometimes, when we are disappointed, we feel bitter against God, man or even ourselves without knowing that the end point of that disappointment is the beginning of your new and divine appointment with God. See, God will never allow any temptation to come your way that your strength will not be able to carry. He wouldn’t have allowed you to see it if it will not end in praise.

GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU AT ALL. IN CHRIST JESUS, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOU!

PRAYER: O Lord, turn my past disappointment to promotion for me in the Name of Jesus.

I PROPHESY: You will not be lost in the crowd in the Name of Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: If we will be quiet and ready enough, we will find compensation in every disappointment.

TOPIC: DIALOGUE IS BETTER THAN VIOLENCE.

Isaiah 1:18.
Come now, let us reason together, “says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

The path of dialogue is followed when two individuals, two groups opposing each other on the basis of divergent views or conflicting interest agreed to suspend assumptions and enter into a genuine thinking together. You can’t do away with divergent view because of the fact that we are from different backgrounds and having different mindsets. We will always see things from different angles. There is nothing anyone can do about that.

Violence has never been God’s way of settling disputes, it is the devil’s method. It involves physical combat, shooting, stabbing, and destruction of properties which ultimately leave people either maimed or dead. It does not matter the magnitude or the duration of the issue between couples, opposing parties, between nations or even among ethnic groups, such can be resolved provided both or one of the parties decides to tow the path of peace.

For instance, from today’s memory verse, when God wanted to reconcile with His people that were neck-deep in sins, He initiated a dialogue through prophet Isaiah. Dialogue remains the best option in settling disputes and reconciling opposing parties. Why? Through dialogue, no one feels cheated, everyone has the opportunity to express his or her feelings. There would be thinking and reasoning together, and where people think and reason together, it is possible to shift grounds and arrive at a consensus.

Is there a quarrel between you and your spouse? Are you at logger heads with someone? Do not let it degenerate into something else. Do not wait for the other party to take the initiative; swallow your pride irrespective of the circumstance and initiate the process of dialogue. After a meaningful and successful dialogue, both of you will discover that what you were quarrelling over is not worth it after all. The peace of God will not leave you in Jesus name.

PRAYER: I receive grace for maturity, patience and wisdom to handle issues of life in Jesus Name.

I PROPHESY: The peace of God replace all your turmoil in Jesus Name.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The way of dialogue is the way of peace.
