I shared something about this some months ago:
For a lasting legacy, do not build your MAIN audience on social media or rely on social media as your primary archive.
"Followers" structure on social media can create the illusion that you have an audience. In the real sense, you don't because you do not control it. One post, and you could be removed permanently, and your audience disappears.
For your archives, you should have three backups:
• Social Media
• Cloud storage
• Offline storage, preferably a durable external drive
No matter how expensive it seems, invest in the other two. Your legacy is worth more than the cost.
For audience building:
• Get a website. That is your digital building.
• Build a newsletter. This is the most secure channel you own.
• Create an app as a hub for your ecosystem, especially for a church or ministry. has an offer in this line. Creating an app for as little as $50.
The main solution for us, however, is to build our own digital communities where we truly host and steward our audience.
Look at the Bible App. There are hundreds and thousands of Bible plans addressing topics like addiction and ma********on. People engage with them daily, and their lives are being transformed.
We need more of that platform
