Today, I would like to pay tribute to a great man and mentor.

It is my honour to speak about late Asiwaju Yinka Mafe . Well, I would have wished I were talking at his 51st birthday party instead of his 3rd year memorial, I know that life isn’t fair sometimes. It’s not fair that Asiwaju was taken from us. It’s not fair that Asiwaju wasn’t able to live long enough to enjoy the good fruits that he laboured for. And it’s not fair that we his crew will be without Asiwaju's booming voice and contagious laugh. Things won’t ever be the same.

No one worked harder than Asiwaju Yinka Mafe. He knew every aspect of politics, business, and human management.

His life was a blessing, and his memory remains a treasure.

Dear Asiwaju, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Rest on Asiwaju Yinka Mafe till we meet and part no more..

DONT WAIT TILL YOUR FRIEND BEGS YOU FOR MONEY

"He didn't dress well to the alumni/school reunion, nobody cared to ask him WHY....

He couldn't pay the annual dues, nobody cares to know WHY...

He keeps saying he lacks airtime to call, hence he could've checked on friends, but nobody cares to ask about his welfare & financial situation that makes him slack so much...

Everybody kept minding their business until the news broke out that their former brilliant classmate suddenly slumped & died of hypertension due to depression...

Mates contributed 10million for a befitting burial of a fellow who didn't live a befitting life.... could they have spent that much to lift him out of depression that eventually sent him 6 feet below?

Please don't say after all he/she didn't ask me, some people were not raised that way. they're just too shy to beg, not pride but the way they were brought up and the fact that everyone else is going through one issue or the other ...

Don't wait till your friend begs you for money, send the little you can afford into his/her account....

That credit alert will be a very big relief to the receiver & you never can tell the danger you've innocently averted from your friend by the little gesture you extended to him unexpectedly..."

A lot of people are going through hard times, give foodstuff, give money, help them connect with people who can change their story for good.

A lot of your classmates do not have jobs, please if you can connect them to people who can help them with job opportunities or even if you can give them jobs, please do so. There is no harm in reaching out to people.

A lot of your childhood friends and classmates are dying in silence due to economic hardship, some as a result of sickness, please reach out to them, your little assistance can go a long way

Check your community for people who need that bowl of garri/rice, reach out to the poor and less privileged around you -

The harshest picture of 2022. It represents predation, as there is no difference between humans and animals, as the dominant and the oppressed eat the weak and rob them of their right to life and subsistence.

The authoritarian does not care about the lives of his victims or their children, but his concern is to satisfy his greed and greed. A young baboon appears holding her mother's belly, not knowing that her mother has passed away and has become prey on the fangs of the predatory leopard beast.

The photo was taken by Basque photographer Egor Altuna, and the London Museum of Natural History chose it as the best and most exciting photo of the year 2022.

It is similar to what is happening in the human world of greater injustice and greater predation of the weak and the oppressed.

Our boys whom we sent to the Universities to study are now living in hotels doing Yahoo, defrauding people.

They are not studying. They are sorting. Bribing lecturers for pass.

They only come into the campus with convoy once in a while to show off. Guess what?

Some lecturers are even worshipping them.

Our teenage sons are now driving Benz in the university. They are now the latest boys in campus.

The houses our sons are living in the university are now flats and duplexes as against the self-contained we used to know.

Well furnished and more beautiful compare to room of some state governors.

Our sons are all married in the university but single at home.

Girls crawl around them... living with them, cooking for them, doing all sort of things with them...

These girls are our daughters whom we sent to the university to study.

They are in every clubs and hotels....they are in every front cars, fastening seatbelt, snapping and moving their lips like DOGS.

My recent research in Nigerian universities opened my eyes to the recent ugly reality. I wept for the future.

These are teenagers, not even adults.
Guess what?

We still see them as children who know nothing.

I don't want to mention names of hotels in IBADAN, LAGOS, IJEBU ODE, ABEOKUTA, AKURE, EKITI STATE etc you will see your sons and daughters. They have been living there for months.

Nobody is going to school. Who school help? Don't you get it?

Those teenagers— boys and girls are abusing drugs. Not just igbo but co***ne and tramadols.

I have boarded a vehicle with a young girl in AGO IWOYE who had some crack (co***ne) in her purse.

Because she's too beautiful, police that stopped us to search didn't search her but searched us all.

On the way, she brought it out, gently fix some into her nose and threw the little remaining substance through the window.

I remained deaf and dumb until I got to my destination and paused, she paused; both of us paused.

Who will save this generation who painfully are our tomorrow.....
