God has always been in control.

There is a certain kind of pain that comes from trying your best and still being misunderstood.
The pain of being betrayed by the people you love so much.
The pain of having lies told against you when you are the only witness to the truth—when there is no one else to speak for you, leaving you with nothing to do but remain silent.
The pain of embarrassment.
The pain of heartbreak.
The pain of losing someone you love deeply.

Sometimes, you cry, but people still tell you to “man up” and move on, while you are dying inside. At some point, it feels like nobody truly understands you. Everyone tells you to move on, as if moving on is something you can simply choose to do.

But what happens when you have already tried to hold on? What happens when hope itself has failed you?

My mother held on to hope until the end, yet she still died poor. So I have learned that sometimes, life does not give us the ending we pray for, no matter how much we hope or how hard we try.

Hurting me now feels like a waste of time because I am already bleeding inside.

I don't need people to tell me to be strong. I don't need them to tell me to forget or simply move on. Sometimes, I just wish someone could understand the weight of what I am carrying without asking me to pretend that it doesn't hurt.

God has always been in control. I just don't always understand His reasons.

Service is the foundation of leadership.

Any person who understands the value of serving others will understand the power of leading them.

Leadership is not found in bringing people into submission, but in serving them with humility.

Do not let your tears rule you, yet let your happiness become a source of joy for others.

The joy of a leader is to serve today those he may lead tomorrow.

Do not be controlled by your own desires alone. Let the pain of others touch your heart.

Let the agony of humanity be reflected in your face, and compassion in your actions.

For the greatest leader is not the one who is served, but the one who serves.

Sometimes the answer to what we seek
seems to be death,
where there is rest.

Yet I look upon the earth
and find it full of faith,
full of people believing
there is another place beyond this one.

We believe because we were told.
But those who told us,
when they leave this world,
do not return to tell us if it is true.

So I wonder:

Is it darkness,
where no man can speak?
Or a place where the spirit lives on?

From man comes spirit.
From animals comes spirit too.
We try to explain the fate of man,
yet the fate of animals is often ignored.

What, then, is the destiny we all share?

I still believe there is heaven.
But who truly knows?

Death is not like a market journey—
where you leave in the morning
and return at night.

It is a road from which
no traveler comes back
to tell the tale.

‎You ever look back at your life…
‎and wonder how you survived certain things?
‎For me…
‎it started the day I left Overcomers College…
‎and entered a school called Result Bilingual.
‎I didn’t know… I was walking into a battle I didn’t understand.
‎At first, everybody loved me.
‎I was that quiet boy who talked too much because he wanted to belong…
‎I didn’t know myself.
‎My self-esteem was small…
‎like a candle in the wind.
‎There was this girl… Damilola.
‎I liked her… but I never had the courage to say anything.
‎But somebody noticed she liked me.
‎And that was the beginning of my suffering.
‎We travelled to Benin Republic for excursion.
‎Complex College.
‎The place that changed me forever.
‎I was hungry… everyday.
‎They would give their favourites big food…
‎and give me almost nothing.
‎I would smile… but inside I was breaking.
‎It got so bad…
‎I started eating seeds from fruits outside.
‎I didn’t even know those things could hurt me…
‎until the day I went to the toilet…
‎and I saw blood.
‎But nobody cared.
‎Nobody asked.
‎Nobody even noticed.
‎Then one day… hunger pushed me into a mistake.
‎Just one small mistake.
‎And suddenly…
‎I became the enemy.
‎They called a meeting.
‎They brought out a car tyre…
‎and the nurse—Nurse Taiwo—stood there…
‎and told me to blow into it 200 times.
‎And if I got tired…
‎my classmates would beat me with belts.

‎I prayed that day.
‎I told God, “If You save me, I will never forget.”
‎But I wasn’t saved.
‎They beat me… until the marks stayed on my back for years.
‎But that wasn’t the worst part.
‎One day… they accused me of something I didn’t do.
‎They dragged me to the sand near the beach…
‎and beat me again…
‎until I confessed to a lie…
‎just so they would stop.
‎And the woman who was supposed to protect us…
‎did nothing.

‎Many years later…
‎I asked one of them, “Why?
‎Why did you treat me like that?”
‎And he said…
‎“Because Damilola liked you.”
‎That was all.

‎But you know what?
‎They tried to break me…
‎but they didn’t succ
