During his Sunday Angelus in Saint Peter’s Square, Pope Leo reflected on the day’s Gospel, inviting the faithful to consider how they are investing the “treasure” of their lives.

Recalling Jesus’ exhortation, “Sell what you own and give alms”, the Pope encouraged Christians not to cling to the gifts they have received from God, but to use them generously for the good of others—especially those most in need.

He stressed that this call goes beyond sharing material possessions, urging believers to also offer their talents, time, care, presence, and empathy in service to others.

SEVENTEEN SPIRITANS MAKE FINAL VOWS.

Seventeen young men have made their perpetual profession in the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, pledging a lifetime of service to God’s mission.

After years of formation and discernment, they professed vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience during a solemn ceremony witnessed by family, friends, and the faithful.

The newly professed are: EJIAKA Bonaventure, EKECHUKWU Simeon, EZEABA Athanasius, EZEFUNAMBA Godwin, EZEH Elias, GINIKANWA Chinedu Peter, IBEAWUCHI Innocent, IYKE-ENEM Samuel, OGBUDIKE Franklin, OHAZULIKE Cyriacus, OJIEGO Christian C., ONWUAMA Chiagoziem, ONWUBUYA Vincent, OZOR Benjamin, SAMUEL Boniface, UKOJI Stanley, and UMENNABUENYI Romanus.

The Spiritans, known for their missionary work in challenging areas, now send them forth to serve the Gospel worldwide.

Today marks the beginning of a few days, a journey, the Jubilee of Hope, and the world needs messages of hope. You are that message, and you must continue bringing hope to everyone,” Pope Leo emphasized to the thousands of young people gathered in St. Peter's Square for the Jubilee of Youth.

After the welcoming Mass celebrated by Monsignor Rino Fisichella, the Pontiff made a few trips around the Square in the popemobile to greet those present.

The Pope wished the young pilgrims a good week in Rome and invited them to gather again on August 2 and 3 for the vigil and Mass of the Jubilee of Youth, saying: “See you in Tor Vergata.
