Hello dear friend

07/07/2025

Kenya's security forces have blocked all major roads leading into central Nairobi, ahead of planned nationwide protests.

Much of the city centre is deserted, with businesses shut and a heavy security presence on the streets. Some schools have advised students to stay at home.

“Who are those who left the PDP to the ADC? I am not going to speak for the APC. But let me take the people one by one. Which of them that you called the heavyweight of the PDP delivered his local government and his state in the last election?” he asked.

The minister specifically took swipe at former Senate President, David Mark, who is currently serving as Interim National Chairman of the ADC.

He said, “How can you rate David Mark as a big weight of PDP? In his local constituency, his daughter ran under the APC and she won. But he, as leader of the party, couldn’t win for the PDP. Two things are involved: it is either he has been playing the PDP for long or he is not on ground.”

BREAKING:
The Interim President and Caretaker President of Cameroon, who also serves as the French Ambassador to the country, has recently been appointed by Paris to oversee the nation due to the deteriorating health of the French-appointed President Paul Biya. He has begun his duties by engaging with traditional leaders to discuss new policies directly from Paris. This development coincides with France's activation of a colonial agreement established prior to Cameroon’s independence, which stipulates that if the appointed president is unable to govern, the French Embassy, led by the Ambassador, will assume control until a new president is appointed.

What are your thoughts on the concept of "African time," especially considering that Cameroon claims to be holding elections in October? 👇

Alleged ₦80.2bn Fraud: Court Adjourns Yahaya Bello’s Trial till October 7

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, adjourned proceedings in the ongoing trial of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello, over an alleged ₦80.2 billion fraud.

The matter, which was slated for continuation of cross-examination of the fourth prosecution witness, A***n Mashelia Bata, a Compliance Officer with Zenith Bank, could not proceed as scheduled due to the absence of the witness.

Prosecution counsel, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, informed the court that the witness was attending a mandatory training and was therefore unavailable for the day’s proceedings. “My lord, the matter was for cross-examination of PW4, A***n Mashelia Bata, but unfortunately, the witness who was supposed to be in the witness box is attending a mandatory training. Because of that, he will not be available for today’s proceedings,” he said.

Pinheiro stated that the development had been officially communicated to the court and the defence. “We had hoped to ramp up the cross-examination, but because of the delay, we could not proceed. However, we have engaged our learned brothers and proposed dates, subject to the convenience of the court,” he said. He proposed October 6, 2025 in the afternoon for continuation of cross examination

Defence counsel, Abubakar Aliyu, SAN, did not oppose the application for adjournment but objected to the proposal of continuing proceedings in the afternoon of October 6. He instead preferred October 7 and 10 or alternatively dates in November.

He further informed the court that the defence had filed a motion regarding a publication related to the proceedings on the EFCC’s website and requested that it be slated for hearing on October 7.

After listening to both parties, Justice Nwite adjourned the matter till October 7 and 10, 2025, for continuation of cross-examination and hearing of the motion, and November 8 and 9, 2025, for
