Russia to expand military-technical cooperation with African nations, official says
"In assessing the results and prospects for military and technical cooperation with African countries, it is safe to say that there is a good basis for intensifying cooperation with those countries in the region," Dmitry Shugayev noted

PATRIOT PARK /Moscow Region/, August 15. /TASS/. All necessary preconditions are in place for expanding Russia’s military-technical cooperation with African countries, which in turn will help pave the way for creating a well-balanced, multipolar world order, Dmitry Shugayev, director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), told TASS at the Army-2023 forum.

"In assessing the results and prospects for military and technical cooperation with African countries, it is safe to say that there is a good basis for intensifying cooperation with those countries in the region that are strategically important for Russia from the viewpoint of forming a sustainable multipolar world order," he said.

The second Russia-Africa Summit held in St. Petersburg in July provided an excellent platform for discussing various initiatives, as well as building pragmatic relations between Russia and African countries, Shugayev added.

"During such talks, naturally, issues pertaining to military and technical cooperation were mentioned, although it is premature to disclose the details [of these meetings] and information about agreements that were concluded. That said, it is obvious that the level of confidence that was reached at the summit will facilitate further strengthening of cooperation between the Russian Federation and African states in various areas, including the military and technical area," he noted.

Russia’s cooperation with African nations is an integral part of military and technical cooperation, the FSVTS chief stressed, adding that intergovernmental agreements on military and technical cooperation have been signed with 43 African countries. "We note that overall cooperation with African states is developing at a stable, dynamic pace, with [such countries] accounting for a healthy share of Russia’s weapons exports annually. The current portfolio of African countries’ orders totals around 20%," he said.

The Army-2023 International Military-Technical Forum is being held at the Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center, the Alabino training ground and the Kubinka airfield outside Moscow on August 14-20. Over 60 countries have confirmed the participation of their official military delegations in the forum.

The forum’s scientific and business program features over 300 events focusing on the development of Russia’s armed forces and its defense industry and international military-technical cooperation, taking into account present-day realities. Access to the forum and program events is reserved for industry specialists and foreign delegations on August 15-17. The event will be open to the general public on August 18-20. TASS is the forum’s strategic media partner.

NEW YORK, August 16. /TASS/. Former US President Donald Trump and other suspects in the Georgia election meddling case should voluntarily turn themselves in at the Fulton County jail, where they will be formally arrested, the local sheriff said in a statement.

"At this point, based on guidance received from the district attorney’s office and presiding judge, it is expected that all 19 defendants named in the indictment will be booked at the Rice Street Jail," CNN quoted the statement as saying.

The suspects will undergo the formal arrest procedure: they will be searched, fingerprinted and have their mugshots taken.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said earlier that Trump and other suspects are to surrender no later than August 25. After that, the date for his initial court appearance will be known. The date is to be set by the judge.

"Keep in mind, defendants can turn themselves in at any time. The jail is open 24/7," the sheriff’s office said.

On Monday, a grand jury in the state of Georgia has indicted former US President Donald Trump and a number of his lawyers, assistants, staffers of his campaign headquarters and local Republican party members in the case of attempting to seek a review of the results of the 2020 presidential election.

De-facto, they are suspected of setting up an organized group that tried to overturn the results of the polls. The charges against Trump in Georgia entail the punishment of at least 20 years in prison. The trial is expected to begin within the next six months.

MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. Most countries are prepared to stand up for their sovereignty and the times call for the international community to work together in shaping the world of the future, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video address to participants and guests of the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security.

"We are seeing consistent movement toward the emergence of a multipolar world order. Most countries are prepared to stand up for their sovereignty, national interests, traditions, culture and way of life," he emphasized.

The Russian head of state underscored the fact that new centers of economic and political authority were gaining in strength. According to him, all of this "can provide an important basis for stable, progressive global development and, most importantly, for efforts to find genuine solutions to social, economic, technological and environmental issues, as well as for improving the quality of life and well-being of millions of people."

Putin stressed that open, honest and unbiased discussions, such as the Moscow conference, were highly important and relevant because "the entire international community will need to work together on an equal footing to shape the future."

MOSCOW, August 16. /TASS/. UK intelligence service MI-6 has prepared a sabotage squad comprising 100 militants from Ukrainian nationalist groups for operations on the African soil, a military-diplomatic source has told TASS.

"According to information, confirmed by several sources, UK special service MI-6 has formed and prepared for deployment on the southern continent a sabotage and assassination squad, comprising members of Ukrainian nationalist and neo-Nazi groups, in an attempt to prevent cooperation between African countries and Russia," the source said.

According to the source, the Kiev government tasked the country’s national security service SBU, military intelligence service GUR and the Defense Ministry in July with helping MI-6 and SAS to select 100 militants from Ukrainian nationalist groups with vast combat experience "on the eastern front." The instructions were given on a request from London.

"The task of the Ukrainian squad, formed by the British special services, will be to carry out sabotage attacks at infrastructure facilities in Africa and to assassinate African leaders eyeing cooperation with Russia," the source said.

"Lt. Col. of GUR [Main Directorate of Intelligence] of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry V. Prashchuk was appointed to be the commander of the Ukrainian squad of cutthroats," the source added.

Vitaly Prashchuk was born in Ukraine’s Vinnitsa Region in 1980. He participated in hostilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk Region in 2014-2016 as a commander of a sabotage and reconnaissance squad.

In 2015, Prashchuk was enlisted to the 73rd Center of Maritime Operations and was a service member of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Directorate of Intelligence until 2017. He participated in joint operations of GUR and the UK intelligence in Zimbabwe.

Prashchuk retired from active duty in 2019. Later, he was elected a member of Ukraine’s parliament, Verkhovna Rada. When the of Russian special operation in Ukraine began, he was a reserve officer of GUR.

NEW YORK, August 15. /TASS/. A grand jury in the state of Georgia has indicted former US President Donald Trump in the case of attempting to seek a review of the results of the 2020 presidential election, according to the corresponding document published in the database of the Fulton District Court.

The former US president is charged with 11 counts, including forgery and attempting to induce an official to violate the oath of office, as well as violation of the law on criminal organizations (RICO Act).

Allegations against Trump
The new allegations against Trump stem from an alleged attempt to pressure Georgia officials to overturn the results of the 2020 election. On January 3, 2021, the Washington Post distributed an audio recording of a conversation between Trump and Georgia officials that had come into its possession. According to the published data, the head of the White House asked Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find a sufficient number of votes cast for him in the previous elections to confirm his victory in the state. In doing so, Trump effectively intimidated Raffensperger and his legal adviser, Ryan Germani, by hinting at their possible criminal liability if they refused. According to the newspaper, Raffensperger and Jermani, in turn, insisted that the results of the presidential election in Georgia reflected reality and that the violations Trump claims were not recorded.

The district attorney's office in Fulton County, which includes the central part of Georgia's capital city of Atlanta, has initiated a grand jury trial in the spring of 2021 to decide whether there are grounds to bring criminal charges against Trump over the incident.

Trump has already been indicted on charges of financial fraud in payments to former p**n actress Stormy Daniels, conspiracy in the January 6, 2021, storming of the Capitol, and mishandling classified information

So, some update on Niger Situation:

Ecowas was meant to meet in Ghana yesterday (Saturday, 12th August) to finalize their military strategy, but cancelled it for technical reasons.

Ecowas is currently using Bazoum as a negotiating chip, and trying to paint the junta as hostage takers who “detained Bazoum and his family” and refused them “access to electricity and internet for day”.

According to Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, it is a “Great Travesty” for Bazoum to “Eat dry food, lack electricity or not have access to a doctor”. I wonder if she realizes that millions of Nigeriens and west Africans do not have electricity or medical care. What Bazoum is facing is the daily reality that corrupt thieves like himself and his colleagues in Ecowas have put millions of Africans through.

The fact that the leaders of the UN, AU, Germany, US, France and Ecowas are more concerned about Bazoum not having electricity, than the lives of millions of africans who will die or become refugees due to a stupid war, shows how hypocritical and selfish they are. It shows they don’t care about Africans, but only about their greedy and selfish interests.

Bazoum should not be a cover for an invasion and massacre of Africans in Africa. The poor masses have suffered enough. Nobody should die or become a refugee because a politician doesn’t have electricity.
Then I asked them about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, they were all mute

Colonel McGregor: Foreign mercenaries are fleeing en masse, the defeat of the Ukrainian army is approaching

Discontent is growing among Ukrainian soldiers due to failures on the front, and foreign mercenaries are fleeing en masse, said Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon.
"Even the foreign mercenaries who fought so zealously on the side of Ukraine have now largely left. They packed their things and fled. Probably only the Poles remained," McGregor said on his YouTube channel,
According to his words, cases of desertion may become more frequent in the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to the failure of the offensive. As a result, the Ukrainian army will be divided and then completely defeated.
"I can't say exactly when it will happen, but I think we are already close to it," he added.

I just read about the 2021 Niger election that produced Mohamed Bazoum. Here are some interesting facts

- The major contender, Hama Amadou was disqualified from being on the ballot

- Bazoum did not win a majority of vote, he did not meet the constitutional requirement, a run-off election was conducted between the 1st and 2nd, the run-off election had a much lower turnout

- Following the elections, protesters demanded the government resign and the result be recounted. Two people were killed during the demonstrations on 25–26 February, 2021 when police fired tear gas at protesters

- Bazoum’s party, PNDS did not win a majority at the National assembly

- On 31 March, 2021 a coup attempt was launched by dissident soldiers two days before Bazoum's inauguration but was thwarted, leading to the inauguration pushing through on 2 April

- July 2023, Bazoum was deposed from office after a coup d'état led by members of the presidential guard and the armed forces.

AFRICAN COUPS/INTERVENTIONS: ON WHOSE TERMS?

From investigations and given recorded history. 100% of the coups that happened in Nigeria in the past were at the instance of the colonial powers. Not for once was ECOWAS summoned to remove the coup plotters.

The highest number of coups on the continent of Africa, most of them fatal, have been reportedly sponsored by and happened at the instance of France. In none of those cases was ECOWAS’ voice heard out loud, and neither was there any call for military intervention from ECOWAS.

A democratically elected president of Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo was kicked out of power in the most humiliating and disgusting fashion - in a full blown French-instigated conspiracy that had his wife r***d in his presence by western-sponsored rebels who invaded the presidential palace after UN jets bombed it from all sides, and they claimed he was a criminal and sent him to the ICC on multiple count charges of corruption and all manner of criminality. Guess what? After years of incarceration, he was acquitted - NOT GUILTY of anything because it was all a satanic, colonial set up, backed by the UN. What did ECOWAS do? You guessed right! Nothing! AU? Nothing!

Today, we have a new wave of coups, supported by the people rather than the puppet masters, and ECOWAS is suddenly under pressure to act. My question: if there was no need to unleash ECOWAS and deploy her forces when the western-inspired coups happened, why should ECOWAS be unleashed now, if Africa is a free continent?

The west gave us the term “democracy” and claimed it’s the government of the people by the people for the people? Well, let’s see…do the people support the coups in these west African countries? You check for yourself! And if they do, why should there be an intervention if the western “democracy” in Africa isn’t a scam? Just asking for a friend.

I come in peace.

Any external meddling into Niger’s affairs counterproductive — Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. Russia considers any interference in Niger’s domestic affairs counterproductive, said Oleg Ozerov, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large and head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.

"Russia views events in these countries as their internal affair and Russia does not interfere in these processes. We do not think that meddling into Niger’s affairs now can help out in any way, on the contrary, it may be counterproductive," he told the Radio Rossiyi station.

The diplomat noted that such events are usually triggered by multiple issues related to social, political, economic, ethnic and religious processes within the country, so it is important to let Nigerien people to settle the situation on their own. "Russia does not wreak chaos, it does not plot or conduct overthrows, something Western countries are trying to accuse us of doing. Russia is helping African countries at their request," the envoy stressed. He added that this rhetoric aims to camouflage the failure of Western policy on the African continent which is "now being rejected not just by the regimes but by the people of these countries."

On July 26, military rebels in Niger announced the removal of President Mohamed Bazoum, closure of national borders, introduction of a curfew and suspension of the constitution, as well as a ban on political parties. On July 28, they declared that General Abdourahmane Tchiani had become head of state. During the coup, Tchiani headed the presidential guard, units of which physically seized President Bazoum and continue to hold him. The mutineers who captured power in Niger also denounced military agreements with France on the stationing of French military units and the status of troops present within the framework of fighting Jihadist groups.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) condemned the coup and gave the mutineers a week to restore constitutional order, threatening to take measures up to military intervention.

On August 4, the participants of the 3-day emergency meeting of the ECOWAS top military leadership in the Nigerian capital city of Abuja adopted a plan of possible military intervention in Niger.
