Indeed it was a day that the UMC shifted from the Scripture. It was that same that the UMC could no longer differentiate between the sacred and the secular. It was the day that my wife and I decided that we could no longer be part of the UMC church.

We wrote a letter to our pastor telling her why we wouldn’t continue to worship in our local church henceforth. Below is an extract from the letter:

“Dear pastor, we regret to inform you that we won’t be a party to this folly that has enveloped the UMC. We have decided that next Sunday, May 12, will be our last at UUMC as we are compelled to leave. Again, we love the people, but we no longer share common beliefs and faith with the institution called UMC that the
UUMC submits to. We fear for our souls if we remain in this church. We know that we won’t be comfortable being there, as we won’t be able to fully express our thoughts and biblical beliefs. It will be offensive to people in the church to call sin
by its name. We know that remaining will someday breed enmity between us and the good people of UUMC.”

FC Barcelona don’t win always. But they play fantastic football. Even their opponents enjoy how they play the game. Well play guys, next season you go again.

We don’t follow FC Barcelona because they are winners; certainly not. We fan FCB simply because whether they win, draw, or lose a game, you will not be disappointed about them. Regardless of the outcome of the match, you will be happy you watched the Catalonia boys playing football. The attitude to football is a joy to behold. Some of us have seen that consistency for decades; you can’t play and possess the ball more.

It has taken 19 years for a repeat of 2006. It was FC Barcelona and Arsenal a game that was too good to watch. I sense it will happen again this year.
