Humility: Jesus himself served as the ultimate example of humility, washing his disciples' feet (John 13:1-17). Philippians 2:3-4 encourages us to "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of the interests of others."

Psalm 118:17, in its most common translation (KJV: "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD."), expresses a powerful declaration of faith and reliance on God. It's not simply a statement of physical longevity, but a deeper testament to spiritual survival and witness.

I shall not die..." This doesn't promise immortality in a literal sense. The psalmist is declaring a faith that transcends physical death. Even facing imminent danger or hardship, the psalmist asserts that their spiritual life—their relationship with God and ability to testify to His actions—will continue. Death may be a threat, but it cannot ultimately defeat their faith and God's purpose.

Hebrews 6:18: "That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:" This verse emphasizes God's immutability and thus his inability to lie, offering believers comfort and strong consolation.

This and many other verses throughout the Bible consistently portray God as completely truthful and trustworthy. His promises are sure, and His word will always come to pass.

Psalm 1:3: "He shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers."
The "tree planted by streams of water" represents someone whose life is deeply rooted in God. The "streams of water" symbolize the constant nourishment and sustenance derived from a relationship with God—His Word, His Spirit, and His grace.

Philippians 2:9-11 states: "Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." This passage describes the ultimate authority and Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 31:6: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." This verse offers direct encouragement and reassurance of God's presence and unwavering support.

BLESSED IS HE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD.

Romans 10:9-13: This passage states, in part, "that if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
It's important to note that "calling on the name of the Lord" isn't simply a rote recitation. It signifies a genuine faith, trust, and reliance on God. It involves a turning towards God in prayer, worship, and obedience. The blessings promised are varied and include salvation, protection, guidance, and and spiritual growth.

The importance of forgiving others: Jesus teaches the importance of forgiving others in the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:14-15), and emphasizes the necessity of forgiveness repeatedly in the Gospels. The parable of the unforgiving servant (Matthew 18:21-35) illustrates the consequences of withholding forgiveness

SO TODAY LET'S TALK ABOUT GOD SUPPLYING OUR NEEDS.

Matthew 6:31-34: This passage discusses worry and anxiety about material possessions. Jesus instructs us not to worry, because our heavenly Father knows our needs and will provide them. The emphasis is on trusting God's provision and prioritizing His kingdom. This doesn't guarantee riches, but rather the peace that comes from relying on God.

God's forgiveness

The overarching theme: God's forgiveness is a central tenet of Christianity. He is presented as a loving and merciful God who desires to forgive those who repent and turn to Him. This is highlighted throughout the Old and New Testaments. Examples include God's forgiveness of David after his sin with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 12), and Jonah's experience with Nineveh's repentance (Jonah 3).

1 Corinthians 13 provides a well-known passage describing love's characteristics: it is patient, kind, not envious or boastful, not proud or rude, it does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. This passage focuses primarily on agape love. And let the love of God fill our hearts today. Amen!
