Nigerians love abusing words once a new word is learnt.

Allegedly entered Nigeria and all of a sudden, every blogger and content creator started using it to tarnish people's name in the name of blogging and content creation.

They will allege something h0rrible against somebody and lace it with "Allegedly ooo"

As of using that phrase exornerate them from the consequences of their claims or being sued.

That's how surrogacy that as been in Vogue forever entered Nigeria and the next thing every pregnant celebrity did surrogacy.

See eee, Nigerians, a certain section of the Constitution says that "He who alleges must prove"
If you like, keep using that phrase to smear people's name.
