Pa Joseph was a retired school teacher, lived with his grandchildren, Joel and Naomi, in a quiet neighborhood.
He trusted them a lot, thinking they were smart and could make good choices on their own because he always acted holy and tried making sure they led holy lives too but life is more than what meets the eye.
One Saturday, Joseph went to the market to buy food for the family. He left **Joel** and **Naomi** at home, thinking they would watch their usual cartoons.
At first, the kids watched their favorite cartoon shows. But soon, Naomi got bored. "Hey, Joel, let's watch something different," she said, grabbing the remote control.
Joel looked at her, unsure. "But Grandpa always wants us to watch cartoons."
"Come on, it's boring. Let's see what else is on TV," Naomi insisted.
She flipped through the channels until she found a movie that looked interesting. It was a movie meant for adu--lts, but the kids didn't know that. They watched as the movie showed things they had never seen before.
Naomi turned to Joel with a mischievous smile. "Let's try what that man and that woman just did," she whispered.
Joel hesitated but finally nodded. They tried to copy what they saw on the screen, laughing nervously at first.
They were about to try again when they heard the sound of the door opening. It was their grandfather, Joseph.
Quickly, they turned off the TV and grabbed their books, pretending to read. Joseph walked in, happy to see his grandchildren studying. He had no idea what they had been doing.
What they did not know is that their neighbor who had heard the odd sounds from the TV had peeped and seen them, but she chose to be silent.
Later that day, their neighbor, Auntie Linda, came over. She was always dressed nicely and had a sweet smile. She gave the kids some candies and asked them what they were up to.
"We were just watching TV," Naomi said, looking down.
Auntie Linda smiled. "Why don't you come over to my place later? I have some fun movies you might like."
The kids agreed, excited to watch something new. When they went to Auntie Linda's house, they were surprised to see her room. It was filled with Gbolala in plastic form and candles. Auntie Linda saw their curious looks and laughed.
"Don't worry, it's just for fun," she said.
She showed them a movie that was even h0tter than the one they had seen earlier. She told them it was just a game and encouraged them to copy what they saw on the screen.
At first, the kids were put off, but Auntie Linda made it seem like it was no big deal.
Auntie Lindie unveiled Ha kponmo. She invited Joel to come along.
"See this?" she said, pointing to ha-kponmo. "It's very special place. Do you want to send Mr. gbolala to this special land?"
Joel nodded shyly. Auntie Linda took a piece of chocolate and placed it in the Kponmo-land. "Leek this chocolate from Ma Kponmo-land," she said.
