ISSUES GUILDELINE FOR 2026 UTME REGISTRATION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released comprehensive guidelines for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), directing prospective candidates to ensure the accuracy of all personal details before commencing registration.

In a statement on its official X handle on Sunday, the Board warned that key information such as National Identification Number (NIN), functional email address, and O Level or A Level results must be correct and harmonised ahead of profile code generation. JAMB noted that errors and mismatches in biodata remain major causes of delays during registration.

The Board explained that candidates must first verify and correct all details captured by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), including name, date of birth, gender and state of origin. To generate a profile code, candidates are required to send NIN, leave a space, then their 11 digit NIN to either 55019 or 66019. Once issued, the profile code cannot be changed because all biodata is automatically retrieved from NIMC.

After generating the code, candidates are to proceed to the nearest JAMB office or any accredited CBT centre for registration. JAMB advised candidates to purchase their ePINs only from authorised channels such as banks, approved online platforms or licensed vendors at CBT centres.

The Board urged candidates to obtain the correct registration template and to cross check all entries before final submission. It stressed that each candidate’s email address and mobile number serve as unique identifiers and cannot be shared or replaced once used for registration.

JAMB also cautioned candidates experiencing biometric difficulties to report directly to the nearest JAMB office instead of submitting to forced fingerprint capturing at any centre. It added that all accredited centres must use dual screens to allow candidates to verify their passport photographs and biometric details during registration.

The Board addressed common issues associated with profile code generation. Candidates receiving a “Record Not Found” message are advised to visit a NIMC office for validation. A “Wrong Parameter” message indicates that the request was sent in an incorrect format and should be resent properly. When notified that a NIN has already been linked to another phone number, candidates are required to retrieve the original SIM card previously used to obtain the profile code. For the error message “Unable to verify your NIN at the moment,” the Board recommended waiting and retrying later.

JAMB urged candidates to begin preparations early and comply fully with the guidelines to ensure a smooth and seamless registration process for the 2026 UTME.

do you know about Exercise

benefits of Physical Exercise

Regular exercise provides significant physical and mental health benefits, including a lower risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes, as well as improved mood, better sleep, and enhanced brain function. It also helps maintain a healthy weight, strengthens bones and muscles, and can increase overall energy levels.

Physical health benefits
Reduces risk of chronic diseases: Exercise helps prevent and manage conditions such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some types of cancer.

Manages weight: It can help you maintain a healthy weight by burning calories and boosting your metabolism.

Strengthens muscles and bones: Physical activity builds and maintains strong muscles and bones, which helps prevent age-related muscle loss and can improve bone density.

Improves cardiovascular health: It strengthens the heart and lungs, improves circulation, and can help lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels.

Mental and cognitive benefits
Enhances mood: Exercise can reduce feelings of anxiety and depression by releasing endorphins and promoting new patterns of brain activity that lead to a sense of calm and well-being.

Improves brain function: It sharpens thinking, learning, and judgment skills, and can delay age-related cognitive decline.

Boosts sleep quality: Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and improve the overall quality of your sleep.

Reduces stress: It serves as a healthy outlet for stress and tension.

Other benefits
Increases energy: By improving cardiovascular efficiency, exercise gives you more energy to tackle daily tasks.
Improves balance and coordination: Regular activity can help improve your balance, coordination, and reduce the risk of falls.
Strengthens the immune system: Exercise can contribute to a stronger immune system.

WHEN A SHEPHERD IS STRUCK DOWN: A NATION’S TEARFUL FAREWELL TO REV. FR. BOBBI PASCHAL

The dawn of Wednesday, 19th November 2025, broke not with light, but with a grief so heavy it bends the soul.
Rev. Fr. Bobbi Pascal, a gentle priest of the Kaduna Archdiocese, a man who carried God’s love like a candle in the night, has been killed by his abductors.
He was taken on Monday, 17th November, along with others, by armed men who have turned our land into a valley of sorrow.

Today…
Nigeria mourns.
The Church bleeds.
Heaven receives a broken offering.

A Heart Too Kind for This Cruel World

It is impossible to speak of Fr. Bobbi without feeling something collapse inside your chest.
He did not harm anyone. He committed no offence.
He was a priest;
a healer, a shepherd, a father to the fatherless, a quiet flame of hope in a darkening nation.

And yet, his life was taken… not for wrongdoing, not for wealth,
not for conflict…
but simply because he stood at the altar of Christ.

What a painful truth. What an unspeakable wound. What a shame upon a nation that cannot protect its prophets. “Nigeria has failed you, Fr Bobbi, but Heaven will not.”

So many times we have said, “It is well,” but today, it is NOT well. Nothing about this is well.

Fr. Bobbi,
your country failed you. The system meant to defend you left you exposed. The land you prayed for became the land that swallowed you. But the God you served, with your hands, with your voice, with your whole life,
will never fail you.

Like St. Paul, you fought the good fight. Like the early martyrs, you carried your cross.
And like Christ, you were taken by the violent, but your soul remains untouched by their darkness.

A Nation’s Tears, A Heaven’s Welcome

My heart is trembling as I write. My hands can barely hold these words. It is too painful, too fresh. A priest… a servant of love struck down.

Fr. Bobbi, may the Angels who stood beside you in your suffering carry you gently into God’s embrace. May the Saints rise to greet you. May Christ Himself wipe every tear from your face.

Nigeria may have failed you,
but Paradise has prepared a place for you.

Journey well, dear Fr Bobbi.
Sleep in the bosom of God. Your blood will not be forgotten. Your love will not be erased.
Your memory will remain a fire that no darkness can quench. We love you but God loves you more. Fare thee well!

CANCER IS REAL

When was the last time you checked your balls?
We often tell women to check their breasts for lumps, discharge, dimpling or other changes but while they do that, we also need to check our balls too.đź«° Testicular cancer is very real but treatable if you detect it early. The most common early sign is a lump in your balls.

So how can you check for this lump?
Examine the diagram and share to all the men you know.
