🚨 ANYONE convicted of preaching or trading inside moving commercial vehicles will face a ₦50,000 fine.

‎The Nigerian Senate passed the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
‎
‎The bill has been sent to the presidency and is entirely awaiting presidential assent, Until the President signs it, bus preachers and street hawkers cannot be legally fined this amount under this act.
‎
‎Lawmakers says they introduced the rule to eliminate critical distractions inside commercial buses. They want to protect the eardrums of passengers and enhance overall commuter safety.
‎
‎The bill also increases the penalty for driving under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drùg§ from ₦5,000 to ₦100,000, Offenders also risk up to two years’ imprisonment or both.

‎ NOTE, it is an offense to cause any form of public nuisance through preaching or hawking inside an omnibus or passenger vehicle while in motion. Section 169 (2) of the Nigeria road Traffic Regulations (NRTR)

Mrs. Onyinyechi Esther Charles, 47, has been arrested in Umueri, Anambra East LGA of Anambra State, for allegedly carrying out C-sections, normal deliveries, and other surgeries without any medical qualifications.

Authorities say the facility has been linked to medical complications and reported deaths. Surgical instruments, hospital beds, and what appeared to be a shrine and an altar were reportedly recovered during a raid.

The facility has been sealed, and she is expected to be prosecuted.
