Have you seen Otigba my mouth piece 

He has become very old

Though wise yet wise

Otigba is quiet 

Has been quiet for a while

I have asked series of questions 

But he has refused to talk

No not the old age

We were told old age comes with wisdom 

Or has he stopped hearing from the gods

Or maybe he has sinned

We were told every mouth piece was sin free

Yet creates
I am a woman made to stand out
Nothing moves me
My strength speaks wherever l walk into.

Designed to speak forth life
In me lives humans of various nations.

Through my eye (Nigeria at 65)

A nation binding in love 

A nation true to it's nature

True to it culture not withstanding 

Never taking no for an answer 

Ready to build a future of possibilities 

A nation whose name sounds agog around the world 

But yet silence rains in its own world.

Through my eye

I see

I see pain from that little foetus

Ready to be born to us

Are we ready for such Innocency?

Again are we ready for a change?

Through my eye

I see

I see a nation bound with love

Yet divided in confusion 

They forget their origin 

They forget how mama trusted us

To keep the home sacred and pure

They forget.

My eyes have seen a lot

Yet tears hangs in there

Refuses to drop for fear of mockery 

What will mama say?

A light went dark 

A light created to make many happy 

A light that shields

A light that loved

A light with a good heart, went dark.

Many cried 

We cried

I cried 

But Thanksgiving overruled

There was no one to question 

No one to blame

No one to curse

Yes Thanksgiving overruled 

Without a doubt 

We stand tall knowing that this light lives on

We stand tall knowing that this light will never go dark again

Without a doubt 

Though this light not physical but will always be present in our hearts.

Today I celebrate a king who wears his crown comfortably because he is a protector

Today I celebrate a man, one of a kind, who gives everything knowing that family is key

Today I celebrate my father who carried me on his arm to safety at every time

Today I celebrate my hero who has always been there, holding me up, keeping the family together because he cares.
