UMACHI ENUGU-EZIKE ♥️🖤🤍
Umu-achi or commonly called Umachi is one of the notable village in Enugu-Ezike. Alongside Ogbodu and Amube, they are regarded as the Amanato ancient kingdom, the pre-originators of Enugu-Ezike. History holds that the early settlement of Ezikeoba started in Umachi , Ogbodu and Amube as Amanato kingdom, which is situated at the current Amube village.
Politically, Umachi falls under Ozzi, Ward 4, and shares borders with Uda, Olido, Iheaka, Iheakpu and Amufie, A village surrended by friendly neighbors.
Umachi is made up of 6 clans, Umuozzi, Umueze, Umuagbedo, UmuAlum, Ugbabe and iganyi with one central market called Nkwo Umachi, they practice Akatakpa Masquerades.
The community’s traditional leadership is rooted in the Onyishi , the eldest man whose word carries the highest authority. His decisions are considered final and sacred, though he works closely with a council of elders to maintain order, respect, and unity.
The population of Umachi is estimated between 5,000 and 10,000 people, (unofficial) making it a vibrant and thriving part of Enugu-Ezike, reverend under a strong traditional practice.
Farming is the pride of the land. Umachi people are great cultivators, They are also skilled palm wine tappers, good hunters, and creative entrepreneurs. Although the hunting grounds are shrinking, farming and palm wine tapping remain strong. Education is highly valued, producing professors, doctors, Lawyers, Engineers , Administrators, and leaders across Nigeria and abroad.
The community is blessed with many institutions and landmarks, a Community Primary School, a Technical College, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and the ongoing Smart School project built by Governor Peter Mbah. Umachi also boasts of vibrant small businesses, entertainment personalities, Movie producers, MCs, DJs, and hardworking artisans.
Culturally, Umachi practices the Ndishi tradition, a proud part of Enugu-Ezike identity.
The have strong ancestry deities and Juju like Iyi-Akpali , Ugwu-abudu, Lalawo Umachi and others...This village god's are respected and has stand a test of integrity, vengeance, Blessings and protection, both Christian and traditional worshipers respect each others seasons and time.
The Village is also known for beauty and family stability, having one of the lowest divorce rates in the area. Their women are praised as some of the best wife materials in Nsukka zone, often compared with the Awgu people of Agwu LGA of Enugu state., EnuguEzike generally produces good wife materials ☺️
Many great personalities hail from Umachi. Among them is Professor J.C. Ogbonna, the current Vice-Chancellor of SUMAS University Igbo-eno in Orba Nsukka, He was the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor(Academic )at UNN, Mr. Okey Oliver who is the Institute of Management and technology (IMT) Enugu Validatorian, Osita Eze who is a big Nollywood producer, Chief Edwin Ali (Eddy-Oil) , Chief.Sam ROGAS, Dr.Zakky, Chief. Sunny black, Young Bishop , Chief.Okuko Igbo, There is also IKEOHA Globa- Sketex, Dr. Ali, Late Igwe Louis Umoro and Late(Onyishi )Eke nwa Eze, among others.
Politically, Umachi is not left behind. People like Mr. Orakwe, a former aide to a past Enugu governor, and the current Ozzi ward 4 Councilor , Hon.Amuche Eze is also from Umachi , PG. Chijioke Onyeke, UDEF President Mr. Emeka Burkina Faso and other notable representative in current and past governments ranging from Local government to federal level.
Umachi people are jolly, accommodating, hardworking, and deeply cultural. They are farmers, hunters, wine tappers, scholars, entertainers, and professionals. They are blessed with beautiful daughters, peaceful marriages, and strong traditions.
In summary, Umachi is a serene and beautiful place to be. If you are looking for a good wife, a safe place to build a home, or a community of talents and opportunities, Umachi welcomes you with happiness.
