Part 3

Ada, who had prided herself on her strength and dominance in the marriage, fell into shock when she received the medical diagnosis. The doctor’s words echoed in her ears—there was no cure. She turned to Emeka in fury, blaming him for ruining her life.

“You did this to me! You destroyed everything!” she screamed, shaking with rage and despair.

Emeka, already drowning in regret, could only bow his head. “I didn’t mean for this to happen… I just needed peace, Ada.”

The weight of his words struck her like lightning. She had made his home unbearable, driven him into the arms of another. Yet, none of that excused what he had done. Their marriage, already broken, was now beyond repair.

As their health declined, so did their spirits. They became prisoners of their own choices, their pain a reminder of the home they had failed to build with love and respect.

The Lesson

A marriage is meant to be a partnership, a haven where both spouses find support and encouragement. When a home is toxic, it drives people to seek comfort elsewhere, often leading to disastrous consequences. Emeka and Ada’s story is a painful reminder that love alone is not enough—a conducive, peaceful, and respectful home is essential for a prosperous and healthy marital life.

Part 2

With no peace at home, Emeka sought solace elsewhere. He found comfort in Ifunanya, a kind and gentle woman who listened to him without judgment. What started as casual conversations soon grew into something deeper. She made him feel valued, something he hadn’t felt in years.

One fateful evening, overcome by loneliness and longing, Emeka crossed a line he never thought he would. He began an affair with Ifunanya. She became his refuge from the storm at home, but his guilt weighed on him. He knew he was betraying his vows, yet he justified it—hadn’t Ada already destroyed the marriage?

But Emeka’s search for comfort led him down a dangerous path. Unbeknownst to him, Ifunanya had been living with an incurable sexually transmitted disease. By the time he realized something was wrong, it was too late. He had not only infected himself but also unknowingly passed it on to Ada.

Emeka and Ada met in a way that seemed destined—at a mutual friend's wedding. Their love story unfolded like a fairytale, and within a year, they were married in a grand ceremony attended by family and well-wishers. Emeka, a soft-spoken and ambitious man, believed he had found a true partner in Ada, a beautiful and intelligent woman with a strong personality.

The first few months of their marriage were filled with laughter and love, but soon, cracks began to appear. Ada’s tone grew sharper, her patience thinner. She criticized Emeka constantly—his mannerisms, his earnings, his relationship with his family. She isolated him from his siblings, accusing them of meddling in their affairs. His mother, who had once adored Ada, now barely visited because of the tension she created.

Emeka, a man who had always been cheerful and full of dreams, began to withdraw into himself. His home, which should have been a place of peace, became a battlefield. He endured Ada’s insults in silence, hoping she would change. But the more he tried to please her, the more she dominated him. He felt like a prisoner in his own home, walking on eggshells, afraid of triggering Ada’s wrath.

The marriage, once filled with love, became a source of his suffering. And slowly, he lost himself.

Part 3:

Ten years after their wedding, Jide and Amara were no longer just a successful Nigerian couple; they were global icons. Jide had built his own tech-driven sales company, partnering with international firms, while Amara’s fashion empire expanded across Africa, Europe, and America. Her designs graced top fashion runways in Paris and New York.

Their story of resilience and perseverance became an inspiration to millions. They were invited to speak at global entrepreneurship summits, sharing their journey from Ajegunle to affluence. Magazines featured them as “Africa’s Power Couple,” and their love story became a symbol of hope for many young couples struggling to make ends meet.

Despite their wealth and fame, they remained true to their values—helping the less privileged, mentoring young entrepreneurs, and ensuring their marriage remained as strong as the day they first vowed to stick together.

As they stood on the stage at an international awards ceremony, receiving a lifetime achievement award, Amara whispered to Jide, “We did it, my love.”

And Jide, squeezing her hand, smiled and replied, “Yes, we did. Together.”

Part 2:

Jide’s breakthrough came when he landed a big contract with a multinational firm. His dedication and innovative sales strategies impressed his bosses, and within five years, he rose to the position of regional sales manager.

Meanwhile, Amara’s fashion brand, Mara Styles, started gaining recognition. Her unique African prints caught the attention of social media influencers, and orders began pouring in from within and outside Nigeria.

They moved into a better apartment in Lekki, bought their first car, and started saving aggressively. They also gave back, offering scholarships to underprivileged children and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Even with their growing success, they remained humble. Jide often reminded Amara, “We must never forget where we started.”

Jide and Amara met during their final year at the University of Lagos. They were both from humble backgrounds, driven by big dreams but limited by financial constraints.

After graduation, Jide secured a job as an entry-level sales representative, while Amara, a gifted fashion designer, set up a small tailoring shop in their tiny one-room apartment in Ajegunle.

Their love was deep, but their struggles were real. Their wedding was simple—held in a small church with only a few friends and family in attendance. There was no grand reception, no exotic honeymoon—just the promise of love, hard work, and perseverance.

Life after marriage was tough. Their finances barely covered rent and food. On some nights, they went to bed hungry, but they never lost faith. Jide often worked overtime, and Amara took extra sewing jobs, sometimes working till midnight under candlelight. Despite the hardships, they encouraged each other, believing that their sacrifices would one day pay off.

Many people are busy comparing themselves with people who attended best schools, had cars even before they finished University.
People who had houses and landed properties even as teenagers, which were all gifts and inheritance by their parents.

People who even before they completed University, their future was set and their path clear. Everything was already working in their favour.

Upon their graduation there were job offers already waiting for them because of their family positions and connections.
Those who knew nothing about fending for self even as kids.

But you who had no support
No privileges
No inheritance,
No connections,
No proper education,
NO one in any notable positions....

All you have today has been gotten through your sweat. yet you are here comparing yourself with people who their life was already made before they were even born.
You're here feeling frustrated and depressed thinking you're already failing in life

You're busy comparing yourself with people who you do not know how they got where they are today.

Though some people genuinely worked hard and got breakthroughs earlier in life. They had the good fortune of being at the right place at the right time and with the right people who saw their genuine efforts and gave them opportunities to thrive.

Some were simply born into affluence,
While others acquired what they have through cutting corners and stepping on other people's toes.

Be inspired by other people's progress but be careful not to make it a competition. Only compete with yourself to become better than who you used to be. Competition with others can only bring misery.

Just keep moving, take the lessons life had thrown at you. Work on yourself in the areas you can and become a better version of you while you move at your own pace.

Remember a better tomorrow is possible, when you live and make intentional efforts today.

Sending love and hugs to you all.....

YOU TOO CAN GET OVER IT

At a point in my life I had struggled with this persistent feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in my daily activities. It affected how I felt, my thought process, and I can tell you it led me to so much emotional problems.

At that point it was so difficult for me to neither smile nor laugh because I couldn't even fake it, even if I wanted to. The situation continued that I was trying to come to terms with mesery as part of my life. It took me so much time to realize that I was dealing with constant depression. Thank God today because all is now in the past.

I don't know if You're dealing with similar situations today. You might actually be the reason why I had the urge to talk about it. You're in that terrible state that you're now thinking that you're situation is irredeemable and there's no way you're getting out of the mesery you find yourself. I've got some tips for you.

SIGNS THAT YOU'RE DEPRESSED

You Constantly feel sad, you also feel worthless and useless.

You don't have appetite anymore or you're now over eating, you don't get good sleep at night or you now sleep too much. You're now lossing weight drastically or getting too fat as a result of much eating and inactivity.

You now find it difficult concentrating, making decisions or remembering details.

You've withdrawn from people you previously enjoy their company. You now notice that you're less productive and don't like interacting with people now

All these and more can make you vulnerable to chronic illnesses like heart disease and a higher risk of self-harm or thought of taking your own life.

THINGS YOU CAN DO TO SURVIVE DEPRESSION

Engage in regular physical activities that can help improve your mood.

Practice self care by maintaining a balanced diet, establish a regular sleep routine and engage in doing things that interest you.

Connect with friends, family or any support group for emotional support.

Practice mindfulness and meditation or any other techniques that helps in reducing stress and fostering positivity.

Finally, seek professional help if you do all I listed above and the situation persisted.

Identify, and address triggers, and set boundaries to reduce overwhelming situations.

I love 💕 you and would want you to live a happier, more fulfilling, more purposeful and more productive life.
