EVERY GENERATION INHERITS WHAT THE PREVIOUS ONE TOLERATED.
Think about that.
The behaviours we excuse today can become the habits our children carry tomorrow.
If we tolerate disrespect, don’t be surprised when disrespect becomes normal.
If we excuse dishonesty, don’t be surprised when lying becomes acceptable.
If we normalize irresponsibility, don’t be surprised when our children struggle with accountability.
And if we tolerate unhealthy behaviour simply because “all children do it,” we may be passing the problem to the next generation.
Parents, this isn’t about raising perfect children.
It’s about being brave enough to say:
“This is not acceptable in our home.”
Set boundaries.
Correct early.
Model good character.
Have difficult conversations.
Don’t reward behaviour you wouldn’t want repeated.
Because what you tolerate repeatedly becomes what your child may eventually consider normal.
You may not be able to change the whole world, but you can change what becomes normal in your home.
Today’s challenge: Identify ONE behaviour you’ve been overlooking and address it calmly and consistently.
Don’t pass tomorrow’s problems to the next generation. Start changing the pattern today.
