in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State as Ette community accused the LG Council Chairman of Land grabbing.
Following the donation of five hectares of land by the Umuopu born legal luminary, Rt. Hon. Ejikeme Odumegwu Owelle, also known as Ndegbe, for the proposed Government Technical College announced by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barrister Peter Mbah, a disagreement emerged over the host community.
The Traditional Ruler of Ette Community, His Royal Highness Igwe Innocent Alachi, challenged the LG Council Chairman stating that the location of the land belongs to the Ette Community and not to Umuopu or any community no matter the legitimate owner of the land by any individual.
Igwe Alachi also alleged that the Chairman of Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Uchenna Michael Ogalla, did not inform representatives of the Ette Community, including his Deputy Mayor, Comrade Abbah Joe, during the handover of the land to the Enugu State Government.
We will continue to monitor developments on this matter and hope for a peaceful and amicable resolution in the interest of Igbo Eze North Local Government Area and Enugu State.
