PDP NWC Members Return N122.4m Bribe To Help Fight Wike, Allies

ABUJA – The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has tak­en a different turn less than six months to the 2023 general election.
The party is presently enmeshed in bribery allegation to the tune of N122.4 million and some members of the National Working Commit­tee (NWC), who received it has re­turned the money into the account of the party.
Insiders said the bribe was to bring National Working Commit­tee (NWC) members on the side of the party’s embattled national chairman against Governor Nyesom Wike and his allies who are hell bent that the chairman must resign from office.
Reacting to the bribery allegation of N15 billion in the party, some mem­bers of the National Working Commit­tee (NWC), in their separate letters to the party’s national chairman and treasurer, on Thursday, said they never knew that such money was in their accounts, adding that they have, however, returned the money to the party’s account.

Wike, Atiku's Men Disagree Over Ayu

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s team has given a condition for holding peace talks with the representatives of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar on Friday.
Sources in the governor’s team told the Punch on Wednesday that Wike’s men would, on getting to the meeting, insist on the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, as a condition for the talks to proceed.
It was, however, learnt that Atiku’s delegation had vowed to reject the call for Ayu’s resignation.

We Will Shut Down Abuja For Peter Obi -LP

The Labour Party says it has concluded plans to embark on a five-million-man march for its presidential candidate in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on September 24.
The LP Chairman, FCT chapter, Diugwu Chukwuemeka Peter, who disclosed this to DAILY POST in Abuja on Wednesday, said Obi’s supporters would shut down the capital territory.
According to him, the Abuja chapter of the party on Wednesday decided to fix the march on September 24 to enable the 36 States complete theirs.

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, on Monday night met behind closed-doors with Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, in Port Harcourt.
The meeting, which is the second in less than two months, took place at Wike’s private residence in Rumuepriokom, Port Harcourt and lasted till early hours of Tuesday.

I did not r**e nobody, I’m happy I went to prison - Actor Moses Armstrong

Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong, has denied the r**e charges recently leveled against him.
Armstrong, a former aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa HeIbom state, was arrested last month for allegedly ra**ng a minor he adopted. He was charged with r**e, intimidation, conspiracy and supplying of drugs or instruments to procure abortion.
He was sent to prison, however on August 11, a High court in the state granted him bail.
