EXPOSURE WILL HUMBLE YOU!🤒

It was during the 2010/2011 academic session that I felt a strong desire to join the seminary and become a Catholic priest 🙏. I sat for the entrance examination at St. Paul's Seminary, Ukpor, Anambra State, alongside my best friend, Dera, and a few of my buddies—Obi, Asianya, Ozo, Sunshine, Dashii, and others from my parish.

Dera and I had consistently ranked among the top five pupils in our class since 2003. Obi was also brilliant, especially with a strong grip on mathematics. For us, the 1st to 5th positions was our comfort zone 😀 But the seminary humbled us 😔

When the results came out, Dera and I did pass(not only us). But despite all our preparation—including Latin classes, we didn’t make it into the top 10 🥹. I was deeply pained 😭. Even though hundreds of students across the country sat for the exam, we never imagined we'd be swallowed up in the crowd 😞. We didn't even make the top 20 — that one shattered my heart 😭.

When I got home, a realization struck: there’s more to intelligence than dominating classroom rankings. We thought we were exceptionally smart, but we lacked exposure. What made us shine locally couldn’t stand the pressure on a national level 😔

When you expose yourself to a national or global stage, you discover your true worth. Step out of your shell and contend for excellence. There's such a thing as "healthy competition" — it’s a tool for exposure, and it pushes you to become the best version of yourself 💪
