Fake Ebonyi Prophet, Ubadimma, Arrested Over Fraud Allegations (Photos) |

A self-acclaimed prophet in Ebonyi State, Prophet Ubadimma, founder of Ubadimma Adoration Ministry, has been arrested by the police following multiple allegations of fraud, manipulation, and exploitation of rural communities.

Reports indicate that Prophet Ubadimma had been deceiving villagers in Izzi Local Government Area by claiming that wealthy individuals were responsible for the poverty of others. He allegedly convinced communities that the rich were “using their destinies” to prosper.

Further investigations revealed that Ubadimma, in collaboration with associates identified as Prophet Malaysia Money and Prophet Small Babe, was secretly planting charms in people’s homes and compounds. Afterwards, they would stage “discoveries” of these charms during orchestrated searches, falsely branding innocent individuals as witches or evil. Such victims were often publicly humiliated and paraded.

It was also gathered that some communities reportedly paid as much as ₦1.5 million to invite him for these fraudulent activities.

Ironically, Prophet Ubadimma was eventually arrested by some of the very people he had blackmailed. He is now said to be pleading with the public to disregard his earlier accusations against those he had labeled as “evil,” admitting that the entire scheme was fabricated.

The development has sparked fresh concerns over the growing menace of fake prophets who exploit vulnerable communities under the guise of spirituality.

Abia Govt Onboards 5,394 Teachers, Adjusts Postings For Efficiency — Governor Otti |

Governor Alex Otti has announced the successful onboarding of 5,394 newly recruited teachers in Abia State, assuring that his administration is committed to improving the quality of education by ensuring teachers are deployed where they can perform optimally, ABN TV reports.

Speaking during the August edition of his monthly media chat with journalists in Umuahia on Friday, August 15, 2025, Otti revealed that while the teachers have already been posted to various schools, the State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) and the Ministry of Education have reviewed some postings to enhance efficiency.

The governor said he had received reports that some teachers were posted to distant locations where relocation might be difficult, affecting their performance.

“I’ve always been a firm believer that posting should not be treated as a punitive measure. If someone lives in Ukwa and you post them to Arochukwu, relocation may be difficult and that would affect their output,” Otti stated.

“We want our teachers to be in their comfort zones so they can deliver their best. If any of the newly hired teachers feels their posting is unsuitable, they should return to us for adjustments.”

Otti further confirmed that all the newly employed teachers have been added to the state payroll from this month, stressing that his administration is focused on creating a conducive environment for educators to thrive while strengthening the state’s education system.

Gov. Otti Hails Aba Polytechnic Rector Over N2bn TETFund Special Intervention, Announces Move To Main Campus |

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has commended the Rector of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, for his outstanding leadership and developmental strides within the institution.

Governor Otti lauded the Rector for creating a conducive academic and infrastructural environment, a feat which, he noted, earned the Polytechnic a N2 billion TETFund special intervention. Remarkably, the school emerged as the only Polytechnic in the entire South-East to benefit from the scheme.

“I am very glad with the extensive improvement at the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Aba. I want to specially congratulate the Rector and his team,” Otti stated, adding that the institution will commence operations from its Osisioma main campus starting from the next academic session.

The Governor urged the management to sustain the momentum and ensure judicious use of the funds to further improve academic standards and facilities.
