YOUNG MAN, I KNOW WHAT THE "DEVIL" HAS BEEN SHOWING YOU ABOUT BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO'S 70TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION...
The Rolls Royce Cullinan worth about a billion plus in Nigerian Naira...
The pomp and pimp of the Ceremony, especially how it was graced by diverse dignitaries, timbers and calibers...
The protocol, security personnel and weight of surveillance that attended the event...
Somebody shout "G for Glory!"
You can't wait to have these definitions of Ministerial success be your serving men as well.
But wait a minute!
Did the devil (Okay, my apologies, let me not not say "the devil", let me say "that inner voice") also show you these things I'm about to share about him (Bishop David Oyedepo)?:
1. That he has never responded to the media talks and all the barrage of attaçks in the news about him from time to time. According to him, “I am too busy with my work to notice what someone is saying.”
Just recently, he said that God will not hear the first commentary of other ministries from his mouth on the podium - never!
2. That he fully understands the details of what he is doing. He is not doing guesswork or trial and error.
His assiduity in the pursuits of Knowledge is next to none. There was a time he went to the US and returned only with boxes full of books. When asked by his wife, "What did you bring for us?" He showed her the boxes full of books. His wife asked, "What else?" He said, “That's all else; with these, I can produce anything you’ll ever need in life.”
Another time, he said, "I am largely a product of books."
Another time, he said, “Can you imagine a student in school that does nothing but read the Bible, pray and fast, when his textbooks are there to be read? He will be the most fantastic and charismatic failure.”
3. That he has personally authored about 70 books and the Winners Church members are highly known as "book people"...
4. That sometimes, he can be "fanatical" about Work, Improvement and Excellence that he's often known for keeping an 18-hour work schedule on some days. Imagine Running about two-plus Universities, hundreds of secondary schools, pastoring the largest church in the world and most times preaching 4 services every Sunday, authoring books and managing several estates and mega projects with the ARK topping the list.
5. That he is a dogged giver; a bullheaded philanthropist.
He always says, “No one can pray his way to prosperity. No one can fast his way to riches. No one can beg his way to abundance; you can only give your way out.”
Annually, he invests billions in student funding and other charitable works, both within the church he pastors and outside of it.
Did the devil or that inner voice also show you these?
6. That he has an indescribable sincere Love for God.
Many years ago, when he was just a youth and was in village for a service, he learned that there was no church in that community, and he used up all his earnings to start a church there before leaving.
During his youthful days, his friends complained that he was carrying Christianity too zealously as if he was the only Christian.
Often he has said, "Whatever worked in this ministry, God did it; whatever failed, I am responsible."
7. Did the devil or that inner voice tell you that he met his wife at a Motor Park?
8. That he was too ‘buoyant’ to afford a hotel room on his wedding eve, he slept in his rickety Volkswagen beetle.
9. That his wife was dripping bl00d while pregnant and explained to him that she had a miscarriage, he shouted “It CANNOT Happen, can I have my food please” – she served him food.
10. That his wife just had their first baby and there was no food or money at home. He refused to borrow or ask or take from church money and they were drinking/eating “CERELAC Baby food’ for 3 days.
11. That Bishop George Adjeman, who he consecrated into the bishopric in November 1999, rebelled against him and took over the Ministry's booming branch in Ghana for 19years. Bishop Oyedepo left it for God, as it were, until the Ghanaian Supreme Court alongside the Ghanaian Pentecostal Fellowship (GPF) in early 2023 revoked Bishop George's occupancy and asked that he vacate the premises, forfeiting all.
12. That Bishop Oyedepo was almost framed for dru'g tra'ffick'ing. Many years ago, he owned a Peugeot 504. Surprisingly, as his then driver was THOROUGHLY washing the newly-bought car, he screamed, "W**d. Na w**d! Na 'igbo'." After the driver discarded it, Bishop Oyedepo got into the car with his wife, Faith and they drove off. For some reason, there was a police checkpoint at the junction by the end of the road of his house that day. The policemen stopped the couple and immediately ordered them out of the car for a routine search. This was rather unusual as the couple were known faces in the neighbourhood. The shocker however came when one of the cops went straight to the driver's seat and checked beneath it as if he had placed something there. He found nothing, he searched some more and after being convinced there was nothing, they let the couple go. What if ma'riju'ana had been found beneath his seat?
I can go on and on and on...
What's my point?
✅ Don't pray to taste the Grace when you're not ready to taste the grass.
✅ Don't desire to enjoy the Glory when you're unready to endure the story.
✅ Don't pray for the Mantle when you're running away from the battle.
✅ Don't covet Greatness when you're not ready for that great mess.
✅ Don't wish for the Crown when you can't reach for the Cross.
