Do you know?

In the final months of her life, Queen Elizabeth II silently battled bone marrow cancer while continuing her royal duties and keeping the illness a secret, even from many within the royal household. According to former royal butler Paul Burrell, who shared these revelations in his new book, the Queen was deeply shaken when she received her diagnosis in 2021, shortly after the death of Prince Philip. At the time, doctors believed she had only a few months left to live.

Determined to fulfill her role until the very end, Elizabeth requested that her doctors help her live long enough to reach her Platinum Jubilee in 2022. To achieve this, she underwent strict treatments, accepted blood transfusions, and even gave up her favorite drinks, replacing them with juices. Thanks to her discipline and determination, she lived nearly a year longer than expected, celebrating this historic milestone with the British people.

However, as Burrell revealed, after the Platinum Jubilee the Queen made a poignant choice: she refused further intensive treatments and chose to spend her final days at Balmoral Castle, her beloved Scottish residence. At the age of 96, frail but serene, she bravely accepted that her time had come.

This moment, when Queen Elizabeth II consciously decided to stop fighting her illness and pass away peacefully, is remembered as one of the most powerful and emotional chapters of her life and reign.

On this day, 7 September 1996, Tupac was shot at a red light in Las Vegas. He fought for seven days and on 13 September he passed away. Twenty-nine years on, his voice still shakes rooms, and his words still cut through the noise.

Do you know? If you don't know now you know

In December 1963, a 17-year-old high school student from San Diego, California, named Randy Gardner set out to answer a bold question: how long can a human stay awake without sleep? What began as a simple science fair project with a friend quickly turned into a groundbreaking and risky experiment to break the world record for sleeplessness. Randy vowed to do it without stimulants—no caffeine, no drugs—just sheer willpower and the watchful eye of his classmate, who documented every moment.

As the days passed, the effects grew more severe. By day three, Randy was forgetful and sluggish, and by day four, he began hallucinating, seeing things that weren’t there. By day six, renowned sleep researcher Dr. William Dement joined the observation team and was stunned by Randy's condition—pale, dazed, and slipping in and out of delusion, yet somehow still functioning. On day eight, Randy could no longer taste food or write properly. When asked to count backward from 100, he stopped at 65 and smiled, as if he’d forgotten the question altogether.

Finally, after 11 sleepless days—264 hours—Randy stood before doctors and reporters, completed but not broken. “I’m tired… I want to sleep,” he said calmly. He then slept for 14 straight hours. Despite concerns, tests showed no permanent physical or mental damage, though he did suffer sleep disturbances for weeks afterward. Guinness World Records later stopped recognizing such attempts for safety reasons, but Randy Gardner’s name lives on in science history as the teenager who took on sleep—and won.

A restless 14-year-old boy in Sydney, February 22, 1970, dreaming of distant horizons and faraway cities. Keith Sapsford, fearless and filled with wanderlust, slipped away from home and hid in the wheel well of a Japan-bound DC-8, unaware of the deadly risk he had taken. Moments after takeoff, as the landing gear retracted, the hatch opened — and Keith fell nearly 200 feet, his ambition meeting a tragic end. By an incredible stroke of chance, amateur photographer John Gilpin was testing his new camera that day, capturing a single frame that froze the boy’s fall in time — a haunting snapshot of innocence, dreams, and loss. Keith’s father would later say, “All he ever wanted was to see the world.” Instead, that dream ended in a photograph that continues to echo through history.

"There is something called "egocentric predicament" in philosophy. If this phrase appears new to you, please google search the meaning of egocentric predicament, and you would discover that it is the problem of many underdeveloped minds...The minds who are not ready to welcome positivity that challenges their destructive egos and bad habits. That is why we see that, in our society, many are the victims of their own destructions."
