There is a Nigeria that exists beyond the Nigeria we presently see.

There is a Nigeria that must be conceived before it can be constructed, envisioned before it can be manifested, and spiritually understood before it can be physically built.

I See a New Nigeria.

Not merely a new government.
Not merely a new political arrangement.
Not merely new roads, bridges, buildings, industries and institutions.

My dear Nigerians,

I know the journey has been hard.

I know that for many families, hope has been tested by the rising cost of living, the weight of daily responsibilities, and the painful sacrifices demanded by a nation undergoing profound change.

I know that sometimes, Hope itself appears tired.

But hear this:

Although this Hope may look frail, it is hard to kill.

For this is not merely the hope of a government.
It is the deeper hope of a people who have refused to surrender their tomorrow.

We may not yet be where we desire to be –
but we are not where we used to be.

Preamble: A Nation at the Threshold

Nigeria stands at a consequential moment in its history.

We are a nation blessed with extraordinary human capacity, vast natural resources, cultural richness, entrepreneurial energy and a remarkable ability to survive adversity. Yet we remain confronted by a troubling paradox: a country of immense possibilities that has too often struggled to convert its possibilities into broad-based prosperity, institutional confidence and enduring national cohesion.

For decades, Nigerians have been told that greatness is imminent. Governments have announced programmes of transformation. Political leaders have invoked national renewal. Intellectuals have diagnosed our problems. Citizens have expressed their frustrations.

But rhetoric, however eloquent, cannot build a nation.
