UNONGO PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR BENUE WOMEN ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION.
Makurdi, March 8, 2026 - Hon Fidelis Msughter Unongo, Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, extends heartfelt greetings to Benue women on International Women's Day.
As APC Aspirant for Benue North-East (Zone A), Hon Unongo acknowledges the unwavering dedication of Benue women to community development. "You're the backbone of our society, driving change and nurturing greatness," he said.
Hon Unongo emphasized that empowering women is key to unlocking Benue State's potential. "Invest in women, and you'll reap a harvest of progress," he noted. He highlighted education, healthcare, and economic empowerment as vital areas needing attention.
The Special Adviser reaffirmed his commitment to championing women's welfare, promoting policies for equal opportunities, and supporting women-led initiatives. "Together, let's shatter glass ceilings and build a brighter future," he urged.
As Benue women celebrate their achievements, Hon Unongo called for unity in tackling challenges like gender-based violence and unequal access to resources. "United, we can accelerate progress and make Benue State a beacon of hope," he said.
The International Women's Day theme, "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," aligns with Hon Unongo's vision for Benue North-East. "Empowered women are the catalysts for change we need," he affirmed.
