JURISDICTION: IKPAMBESE DRAG ALIA, DAjOH TO ABUJA COURT.

-Question Governor,Speaker Audacity.

15/03/2025
Abuja.

A court in Abuja has ordered that legal documents be served to the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, in a case filed by the Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Maurice Ikpambese.

The court made this decision on March 12, 2025, after considering an application by Justice Ikpambese's lawyer, Chief Sebastine Hon.

The legal documents will be served to the Governor through the office of the Attorney General in Benue State.

Justice Ikpambese is asking the court to decide if his removal as Chief Judge by the Benue State House of Assembly is constitutional.

He's also questioning if the Governor's recommendation for his removal, without investigation by the National Judicial Council, is valid.

The court will consider these questions and others, including whether the Governor's petition to the National Judicial Council is legitimate.

Justice Ikpambese wants the court to determine if his rights were violated during the removal process.

The case involves several defendants, including the National Judicial Council, the Attorney General of the Federation, and the Governor of Benue State.

The court has adjourned the matter until March 17, 2025.

YAHAYA BELLO: 110.4 BELLO FRIEND'S APPLICATION DENIED BY COURT.

A Nigerian court has denied bail to Abdulsalam Hudu and Umar Oricho, co-defendants of former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, in a ₦110.4 billion fraud case. On October 24, 2024, Justice Maryanne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja rejected their oral bail applications, citing the need for written requests.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Hudu and Oricho with fraud alongside Bello. Defense lawyers J.B. Daudu and A.M. Aliyu argued for their clients' release from EFCC custody, but prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo opposed the oral applications.

Justice Anenih sided with the prosecution, emphasizing the importance of following proper legal procedures. Hudu and Oricho were arraigned on October 3, 2024, and remanded in EFCC custody.

Additionally, the EFCC has complied with the court's order to publish a public summons against Yahaya Bello in a national newspaper, as he continues to ignore court appearances for his arraignment on 16-count charges of fraud.

The case has been adjourned until November 14 and 20, 2024, for Yahaya Bello's arraignment.

TINUBU GOVERNMENT FAILURE THAN 1999- CNG.

Abuja

19/07/2024

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) warns that Nigerians may revolt due to the country's bad economic situation. The group blames the government for this situation and demands that President Tinubu change his economic team and policies.

Nigeria is in a difficult situation due to economic hardship, inflation, and poverty. Over 133 million Nigerians live in poverty, and 20 million are unemployed or underemployed. Inflation has risen to 34.19%, and food inflation has surged to 40.66%.

The CNG says President Tinubu's economic policies have made things worse. They demand a change in policy direction and reject the plan to increase fuel prices to fund the new national minimum wage.

The group calls on President Tinubu to replace his economic team and adopt new and innovative solutions to address the economic crisis. The current approach has led to more hardship and suffering.

The CNG also condemns the increase in interest rates, which will harm the economy and reduce job opportunities. They demand that the government address the root causes of the problems, including high fuel prices, electricity tariffs, food costs, and the falling value of the Naira.

The situation is urgent, and the CNG warns that if the government doesn't address these challenges, Nigerians may revolt. They demand action now to prevent this from happening.

The CNG demands that the government take immediate action to address the economic crisis and prevent a revolt. They urge President Tinubu to listen to the people's suffering and take necessary steps to address their plight.

AKUME LOYALIST GIVE THANKS IN GUMA DESPITE BAN.

1/07/2024

Despite the government ban, a large crowd gathered at NKST Church in Daudu, Benue State, to honor Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume. The thanksgiving service was held to celebrate Akume's achievements and his recent appointment as SGF.

The event was almost cancelled due to a ban by the local government chairman, allegedly on the orders of Governor Hyacinth Alia, who has been at odds with Akume's supporters. However, the crowd defied the ban and gathered to pray and give thanks for Akume's life and achievements.

In his sermon, Rev. JT Aernyi encouraged the congregation to emulate Akume's leadership philosophy and strive to make a positive impact. Akume's representative, Christopher Tarka, expressed gratitude to the church and emphasized the importance of peace and unity in the state.

The Chairman of the occasion, Barr. Pius Ukeyima Akutah, stressed the importance of thanksgiving and gratitude. He noted that it is essential to give thanks and express appreciation after receiving an act of kindness or favor. Prayers were also offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Alia, and other federal appointees from Benue.

The service also aimed to raise funds for the roofing of the church building, and several loyalists and supporters of Akume donated generously to the project. The event showed the appreciation and admiration of the people for Akume's leadership and contributions to the state.

The thanksgiving service was a testament to Akume's impact and influence in Benue State, and his commitment to giving back to society. Despite attempts to abort the event, the crowd's defiance and determination showed the power of unity and gratitude.

Alia denies plan to shut Ortom’s companies in Benue

25/06/2024

The Defenders of Democracy group has raised an alarm over an alleged plan by the Benue State government to cripple the investments of former Governor Samuel Ortom. According to the group's president, Amos Uchiv, the government plans to raid and shut down all companies under Oracle Business Limited, founded by Ortom.

Uchiv alleged that the government intends to use security personnel to forcefully raid Oracle Businesses and shut them down, using spurious allegations as a pretext. He claimed that the government has taken Ortom to the EFCC and ICPC with frivolous petitions, and shutting down his companies is their next move.

The group president stated that the government's goal is not only to shut down Oracle Businesses but also to seize vehicles and valuables found on the company premises. This move, according to Uchiv, aims to render Ortom ineffective.

However, Solomon Iorpev, Technical Adviser to Governor Alia on Media Publicity and Strategic Communication, has denied the allegations. He stated that crippling businesses goes against Governor Alia's push to encourage small-scale enterprises.

Iorpev's denial contradicts the claims made by the Defenders of Democracy group, leaving room for speculation about the true intentions of the Benue State government. The situation highlights the ongoing tensions between the current and former governments in the state.

FG to launch construction of 2,000 housing units in Benue, Akwa Ibom, 6 other states .

24/06/2024

The Federal Government is taking a giant leap forward in providing affordable housing for Nigerians. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is set to break ground on an additional 2,000 housing units in eight states across the South and North Central regions. This is a welcome development, and a step in the right direction.

The states that will benefit from this initiative are Ebonyi, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Osun, Oyo, Benue, and Nasarawa. The Minister, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, will officially launch the construction between June 26 and July 6, 2024. This is a continuation of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates program, which aims to provide decent and affordable housing for all Nigerians.

As the saying goes, "a house is made of walls and beams, but a home is made of love and dreams." The Federal Government is committed to making this dream a reality for many Nigerians. With this initiative, they are "putting their money where their mouth is" and "practicing what they preach."

This project is a "drop in the ocean" compared to the housing needs of Nigerians, but it is a "step in the right direction." The Federal Government is "breaking new ground" and "pushing the boundaries" to provide housing for all.

Let us "give credit where credit is due" and commend the Federal Government for this laudable initiative. We hope that this project will be "the light at the end of the tunnel" for many Nigerians who are in dire need of affordable housing.
