Former Senate Leader, Ali Ndume has urged President Bola Tinubu to extend his appointments to the people of South-East.

The Senator made the appeal while commending Tinubu over fresh appointments into Boards of key Federal agencies, which greatly factored the Northern part of the country.

The Senator representing Borno South then appealed to President Tinubu to consider the south east region in his next appointments of individuals to key federal agencies.

According to Senator Ali Ndume, "the wrong narrative that the south east has been abandoned and would not count in patronage distribution should not be allowed to fester for long"

The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, says the APC is ready to take over governance of Enugu State come 2027. Speaking in Igbo-Eze North after receiving over 500 defectors from PDP, LP, and APGA, Nnaji blamed the demolition of markets by the current administration as a reason PDP will lose.

He also commended President Tinubu for appointing Enugu-born Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff.

Former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has asked the House of Representatives’ Committee on Public Hearing to review the 1999 Constitution and address the marginalisation of the South-East through the creation of Adada State.

The agitation for the creation of additional state in the South-East took the centre stage in Enugu, on Saturday, during the public hearing.

Meanwhile, the quest for the creation of Anioma state as the sixth state of the Southeast region has gained unprecedented support from no fewer than ninety Senators in the upper legislative chamber.

This follows intense lobbying by Senator Ned Nwoko, representing the Delta North senatorial district on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
