DEFENCE MINISTER BADARU HOSTS APC POLLING UNITS AGENTS FORUM, JIGAWA STATE CHAPTER — CHARGES MEMBERS TO STRENGTHEN GRASSROOTS SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU’S RENEWED HOPE AGENDA

The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, no Wednesday,5 November 2025, received the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Polling Units Agents Forum, Jigawa State Chapter, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Ministry of Defence, Ship House, Abuja.

The delegation, led by Comrade Abubakar Mohammed Gumel, presented a Commendation Plaque to the Minister in recognition of his loyalty, service, and contributions to the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In their remarks, the Forum commended His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and the bold reforms driving national renewal, unity, and economic recovery. They acknowledged the Honourable Minister’s support in advancing the President’s security and development priorities, and his steadfast commitment to the APC’s ideals of accountability, discipline, and good governance.

Responding, the Honourable Minister thanked the Forum for their visit and recognition, reaffirming his total loyalty to President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He urged the Forum to intensify grassroots mobilisation, promote unity within the party, and strengthen public confidence in the administration’s efforts to deliver peace, prosperity, and inclusive development for Nigerians under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, was the Guest of Honour at the formal Pulling-Out Ceremony of the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), held today, Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Army Headquarters Garrison Command, Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja.

The ceremony was attended by the new Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Service Chiefs; the Inspector General of Police; senior military officers ( serving and retired), as well as family members, friends, and well-wishers.

The Pulling-Out Ceremony is a revered military tradition celebrating officers who have served with distinction and have completed their service to the nation with dignity and pride.

THE DEFENCE MINISTER BADARU ATTENDS SCREENING OF NEWLY APPOINTED CDS AND SERVICE CHIEFS AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, attended the screening of the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen O. O. Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen W. Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral I. Abbas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal S. K. Aneke, at the plenary session of the National Assembly, Abuja.

The nominations of the Chief of Defence Staff and the three Service Chiefs, earlier forwarded to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, were presented in accordance with the constitutional provisions guiding their appointment and confirmation.

Presiding over the plenary, the Senate President, His Excellency Godswill Akpabio, led deliberations on the motion for the confirmation of the nominees, commending their professionalism, competence, and distinguished service records.

Subsequently, the Honourable Minister of Defence and the nominees proceeded to the House of Representatives Complex, where the appointees appeared before the House Committee on Defence, chaired by Hon. Babajimi Benson, in furtherance of the legislative screening.

The screening exercise was also attended by the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Maj Gen E. A. P. Undiandeye, senior military officers, family members, friends of the nominees, and other distinguished guests.
