This World Breastfeeding Week, Lafiyar Mu Development Initiative (LMDI) joins the global community in celebrating one of the most effective investments in child survival, maternal health, and sustainable development.
Breastfeeding is more than nourishment—it strengthens immunity, supports healthy growth and brain development, protects mothers and babies, and lays the foundation for healthier families and stronger communities.
This year’s theme, “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems,” reminds us that every mother deserves the support she needs to initiate and continue breastfeeding successfully. Families, healthcare providers, employers, communities, and governments all have a role to play in creating an enabling environment for breastfeeding.
