WHY MY D£AD FRIEND KEEPS SENDING MONEY TO MY ACCOUNT EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT — EPISODE 2

The following Friday night, my phone vibrated again.

Honestly, I wished I never checked that notification.

Because immediately I opened it, my phone started ringing loudly.

Someone was calling me.

And it wasn’t a strange number.

The caller ID displayed:

“CHIBUZOR BABA CALLING
”

At that exact moment, I knew my life was finished.

Cold fear rushed through my body instantly.

My hands started shaking badly as I stared at the screen.

The truth was
the night I buried Chibuzor inside that forest, before covering his body completely with wet sand, I personally dropped his phone inside the grave beside him.

I did it because I didn’t want his family disturbing me with calls.

Especially his mother.

So now
how was this same phone calling me?

The first call ended.

I remained frozen.

Then suddenly—

the phone started ringing again.

The same number.

The same name.

But fear refused to let me answer.

I just kept staring at the screen while my heartbeat grew louder inside my chest.

The call stopped again.

Then one final call entered.

Three complete calls.

After that, silence.

That night, sleep abandoned me completely.

Each time I closed my eyes, I saw Chibuzor’s white shirt soaked with blood.

Sometimes, I saw his mother crying heavily, holding my clothes and asking me:

“What did you do to my son?”

I kept waking up in fear.

Finally, sometime around 4am, exhaustion dragged me into sleep.

But suddenly—

I felt somebody tap my waist.

I jumped up immediately.

My heart almost exploded.

I looked around the room quickly.

Nobody was there.

But something felt terribly wrong.

The entire room suddenly became hot.

Not normal hotness.

The kind of heat that makes breathing difficult.

Sweat covered my whole body instantly.

My pajamas became completely soaked.

At that point, I decided to take a bath to calm myself.

I removed my clothes, switched on the bulb beside my bed, and walked slowly toward the bathroom.

At that time, my shower wasn’t working properly, so I normally fetched water into a white bucket before bathing.

That was exactly what I did.

I opened the tap.

Fetched water.

Then bent down to start bathing.

But suddenly

I noticed something terrifying.

The clean water inside the white bucket started changing colour.

Right before my eyes.

Slowly

it turned dark red.

My breathing stopped.

I stepped backwards immediately.

Then suddenly—

I saw a reflection inside the water.

It was Chibuzor.

Standing behind me.

His face covered with blood.

At that exact moment—

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

A heavy knock landed on my bedroom door.

My heart stopped beating.

27/05/2026

I buried my closest friend with my own hands
so I still don’t understand why he keeps sending money to my account every Friday night, begging me to call his mother.

The first time it happened was three days after his dÂŁath.

That night, I was alone in my room, scrolling through sad songs on my phone, trying to forget everything that happened. Trying to erase his face from my memory.

But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop thinking about that terrible night.

The night Chibuzor dled.

My chest felt heavy with guilt.

I was still pressing my phone absentmindedly when suddenly, my banking app entered with a loud notification.

Credit Alert.

₩5,000,000 received.

I froze instantly.

My heart nearly stopped.

“Jesus Christ
” I whispered. “Who sent me five million naira?”

My hands immediately started shaking.

Fear gripped my body so badly that I almost dropped my phone.

I quickly opened my bank app to check the sender’s details.

But the moment the name loaded fully

my blood turned cold.

The sender’s name was:

CHIBUZOR EZE

Exactly the same name as my best friend.

The same friend I buried myself.

My breathing became heavy.

“No
this isn’t possible,” I muttered, stepping backwards slowly.

Sweat covered my face immediately.

With trembling fingers, I checked the account number again and again.

It matched perfectly.

The exact same account details.

At that moment, goosebumps covered my entire skin.

Before I could even recover from the shock, another message entered my phone.

Unknown Message:

> “Kelvin
if you received the money, then listen carefully.”

My hands became weak as I continued reading.

> “Call my mother and tell her the truth about the night you buried me inside the forest and ran away.”

My throat suddenly dried up.

The message continued:

> “If you refuse before next Friday
I will come for you myself.”

My phone nearly slipped from my hand.

That night, sleep never came to my eyes.

Every sound inside my room felt like someone breathing beside me.

But after that night, everything became quiet again.

No messages.

No strange alerts.

Nothing.

Slowly, I started convincing myself that maybe grief was affecting my mind.

Maybe I was imagining things.

Because I knew what happened that night.

I buried Chibuzor myself.

So how could a dead man transfer money into my account?

It made no sense.

But the following Friday night

my phone vibrated again.

Another credit alert.

From the same account.

Before I could even breathe properly—

MY PHONE STARTED RINGING.

Slowly

I looked at the screen.

And the caller ID displayed:

“CHIBUZOR EZE CALLING
”

26/05/2026

“If you bring me the hair of five men who trust you completely, then your name will become the biggest in this town. Money will chase you day and night.”
The dark herbalist, Mama Ezenwayi, said slowly as smoke filled the shrine.

The moment I heard those words, my heart started beating fast.

“Mama
are you serious?” I asked with shaking lips. “You mean someone like me can finally become rich?”

For years, poverty followed me everywhere.

Before I became a barber, I suffered too much. I worked different dirty jobs, but nothing ever changed. Everywhere I went ended in disgrace.

One time, I worked as a night guard in a frozen food shop. The salary was so small that even feeding became a problem.

Most nights, after everybody closed, I secretly entered the store and stole frozen chicken just to survive.

I kept telling myself it wasn’t stealing
I was only trying to stay alive.

But one night, everything changed.

I was inside the cold room picking the biggest chicken when I suddenly saw a shadow behind me.

My body froze instantly.

“Kelvin
so you are the thief?” a deep voice said from the darkness.

I turned quickly and saw Mr Patrick, the supervisor, standing right behind me.

My legs became weak.

“Sir please forgive me,” I begged immediately. “Hunger pushed me into this.”

But he just laughed angrily.

“Hunger? Tomorrow morning you are finished in this company!”

And truly, the next day, I was fired publicly like a criminal.

That day broke me completely.

But now
this was my chance to escape poverty forever.

I looked at Mama Ezenwayi with determination in my eyes.

“I will do it,” I said.

She smiled slowly.

“Then bring me the hair of five men before the next full moon. But remember
” her voice suddenly changed, “they must trust you with their lives.”

A cold wind blew through the shrine.

I swallowed hard.

“Yes Mama. I understand.”

As I turned to leave, she shouted again.

“The first man you see outside this shrine will become the first sacrifice!”

Fear gripped my heart immediately.

I rushed out of the shrine sweating heavily.

As I walked back toward my barbing shop, her words kept repeating inside my head.

The first man you see

The first man you see

When I finally reached my shop, I opened the door slowly and started arranging my clippers.

Then suddenly—

“KELVIN MY GUY!”

I turned quickly.

It was Daniel
 my childhood friend.

The same person who trusted me more than anybody else in this town.

He smiled happily and sat on the chair.

“Give me my usual clean haircut,” he said.

At that moment, my hands started shaking.

đŸ”„ I Paid ₩850,000 to Test My Husband
Now Everything Is About to Scatter đŸ˜łđŸ”„

Episode 4

“I’m actually surprised you said your husband didn’t come home,” Cynthia said calmly, trying her best to control her voice. “Because he left the office before me yesterday. He even told me he wasn’t feeling fine and wanted to go home and rest. He left around 2pm. That was the last time I saw him.”

Ada broke down immediately.

“He didn’t come home,” she said, her voice shaking. “I don’t know where he went. I don’t understand what is happening anymore. I’m scared. What if
what if he went to another woman?”

Tears rolled down her face.

“I don’t want my marriage to scatter,” she added softly.

Inside the room, Emeka heard everything clearly.

His heart was pounding heavily.

“So she came here to look for me
” he whispered to himself. “This is bad
 this is very bad.”

He began to panic.

“If she enters this room, everything is over. There’s nowhere to hide. This place is too small. What am I going to do now?”

He looked around quickly, searching for any possible way out.

Then his eyes stopped at the window.

“This is my only chance,” he said under his breath.

He rushed quietly, picked up his clothes, and dressed as fast as he could.

“If I stay here, I’m finished. I have to leave now.”

He moved toward the window and tried to open it gently.

“This window is small
” he muttered. “I just hope I can pass through.”

He pushed his head through first, then slowly forced his shoulders.

It wasn’t easy, but he managed to squeeze himself through.

Finally, he dropped outside behind the building.

He stood there for a moment, breathing heavily.

“Thank God
” he said. “At least she didn’t catch me inside.”

But suddenly, another problem hit him.

“My car is still inside the compound,” he realized.

He frowned.

“If she sees my car, she will know I was here.”

He looked around quickly.

“I can’t go back now. I’ll wait somewhere close until the coast is clear.

Emeka walked through a small path behind the building and came out to the roadside.

He entered a small restaurant nearby and sat down, thinking deeply.

Then he brought out his phone.

“Let me call Cynthia,” he said. “She needs to know I’ve left.”

Back at the apartment, Cynthia’s phone started ringing while she was still outside with Ada.

She didn’t know Emeka had already escaped.

She glanced at her phone.

“Madam, please excuse me
let me quickly pick this call,” she said.

She rushed inside.

The moment she entered the room, she stopped.

“He’s gone?” she whispered.

She looked around in confusion.

“But I left him here
”

Her eyes quickly went to the window.

That was when she understood.

Her phone was still ringing.

She looked at the screen.

It was Emeka.

She quickly answered.

“Hello?”

“Cynthia, I’ve left,” Emeka said quickly in a low voice. “I heard everything. I had to escape through the window before she comes in. You can let her enter now. Once she’s inside, inform me so I can come and move my car.”

Cynthia exhaled deeply in relief.

“I was even wondering how to handle this situation,” she said quietly. “Thank God you’ve left.”

She ended the call immediately.

She adjusted herself and went back outside.

“Madam, please come in,” she said with a forced smile. “Let’s sit down and talk properly.”

Ada looked relieved.

“Thank you so much,” she said as she entered.

Immediately Ada sat down, Cynthia quickly typed a message on her phone.

“She’s inside now. You can come and carry your car.”

She sent it.

Ada looked tired and worried.

“Why do you think my husband slept outside?” she asked. “Do you think he doesn’t love me anymore?”

Cynthia shook her head.

“Madam, this is Lagos,” she said calmly. “You should be more concerned about his safety. What if something happened to him on the way? Besides, I told you he wasn’t feeling well yesterday.”

Ada sighed.

“Maybe you’re right,” she said slowly. “I’ve just been overthinking.”

After a few minutes, she stood up.

“Alright
let me go home. At least I feel a bit better now.”

Cynthia nodded.

“Yes, madam. He will be back. Don’t worry.”

Outside the compound, Emeka quietly walked back in and entered his car.

He started the engine immediately.

“Let me leave this place before anything happens,” he said.

At that same moment, Ada stepped out of the apartment.

Her eyes moved across the compound.

Then suddenly
 she froze.

“Wait
” she said slowly.

She pointed.

“Cynthia
is that not my husband’s car?”

The car was already moving toward the gate.

Ada turned sharply.

“You said he didn’t come here
” she said, her voice changing.

“Then why is his car leaving this compound?”

Everything went silent.

đŸ”„ I Paid ₩850,000 to Test My Husband
The Truth Is Finally Coming Out đŸ˜łđŸ”„

Episode 3

“I still can’t believe I spent the night here,” Emeka said softly, stretching as he sat on the edge of the small bed. It was early morning, around 5:30am, and the room was quiet except for the faint sound of movement from the kitchen. “Your place may be small, but I won’t lie
I felt comfortable here. Last night was something else.”

He looked at Cynthia and smiled.

“I didn’t expect things to go this far. But now
I feel like I’m getting used to you.”

Cynthia smiled back, clearly pleased.

“I’m happy you came,” she replied. “I’ve always wanted this
even if I didn’t say it before. So tell me, will you come again?”

Emeka didn’t hesitate.

“Of course. I’ll be coming here often. But we have to be careful. My wife must not know about this. Not even a single hint.”

Cynthia nodded confidently.

“She will never find out,” she said. “I know how to keep things quiet.”

Then she paused and looked at him closely.

“But what will you tell her?” she asked. “You didn’t go home last night. She will definitely ask questions.”

Emeka waved his hand dismissively.

“Don’t worry about that. I’ll handle it. I’ll just tell her I had work issues and stayed back at the office. She trusts me
 she won’t suspect anything.”

Cynthia smiled.

“Alright. I believe you.”

Meanwhile, at home, Ada had not slept all night.

She sat on the bed, restless and worried, staring at her phone again and again.

“My husband has never done this before,” she said to herself. “He has never slept outside without telling me. Why didn’t he come home? Why didn’t he even call me?”

Her heart was beating fast.

“This is not normal
 something is wrong.”

She stood up and began pacing around the room.

“Cynthia told me he is faithful
 so why is this happening?”

She paused.

“I need answers. I can’t stay like this.”

---

By early morning, around 5:30am, Ada had already made up her mind.

She picked up her car keys and left the house immediately.

The roads were still clear, so she drove quickly across town.

“I’m going to Cynthia’s house,” she said. “She works with him. She must know something.”

---

As she drove, her thoughts became more intense.

“If I find out that my husband spent the night with another woman
 I don’t know what I will do.”

Her grip tightened on the steering wheel.

“This Lagos will not contain us,” she muttered.

---

A few minutes later, she arrived at Cynthia’s apartment.

She parked and walked straight to the door.

Then she knocked.

---

Inside the room, Emeka froze.

“Did you hear that?” he whispered.

Cynthia’s heart skipped.

“Yes
 someone is at the door.”

“I’m not expecting anyone,” she added, her voice shaking slightly.

She quickly stood up.

“Let me check who it is.”

---

Cynthia walked to the door, trying to stay calm.

But the moment she opened it

Her face changed instantly.

“Madam
?” she said in shock.

It was Ada.

---

“Good morning,” Ada said quickly, her voice heavy with emotion. “I’m sorry for coming this early
but I really need to talk to you.”

Cynthia forced a smile.

“Good morning, ma
 is everything okay?”

“Please, can I come in?” Ada said, already looking exhausted. “I didn’t sleep all night. My heart is not at rest.”

Cynthia hesitated.

Her mind started racing.

“If she enters this house
 everything is finished,” she thought.

---

“Madam, can we talk outside?” Cynthia suggested quickly.

But Ada shook her head.

“No
please. I need to sit down. I’m really tired.”

She gently pushed the door.

Cynthia’s heart started beating faster.

---

Inside the room, Emeka stood still, completely confused.

“What is happening?” he whispered.

He had no idea that the woman at the door was his wife.

---

Cynthia quickly blocked part of the entrance, trying to think fast.

But Ada was already speaking again, her voice breaking.

“My husband did not come home last night,” she said. “This has never happened before. I’m scared. I don’t understand what is going on.”

Tears filled her eyes.

“You told me he is a faithful man
so why didn’t he come home?”

Cynthia couldn’t speak.

She just stood there, frozen.

“I need your help,” Ada continued. “You work with him. You should know if something is wrong. I want you to help me find out where he slept last night.”

She wiped her tears.

“I can’t handle this alone.”

Then she took another step forward.

“Please
let me come inside. I need to sit down so I can explain everything properly.”

Cynthia’s heart was pounding loudly.

“If she enters
she will see him,” she thought.

“What am I going to do now?”

She forced a nervous smile, trying to stay calm.

But deep down
she knew trouble had already started.

 The Truth Broke Me đŸ˜łđŸ”„

Episode 2

Emeka froze the moment he looked up.

For a few seconds, he couldn’t say anything. His mind was racing.

“This lady is really beautiful,” he thought silently. “I’ve noticed her for a long time in this office, but I’ve always controlled myself because I’m a married man. I respect my wife too much to cross that line
 but what is happening today?”

He swallowed hard.

“Why is she acting like this? Why is she standing so close
why does it feel like she’s trying to get my attention on purpose?”

He shifted slightly in his chair, trying to focus, but it wasn’t easy.

“This is not normal,” he told himself. “This feels like a test
 or temptation.”

---

“Cynthia,” he finally said, his voice calm but serious, “what exactly are you trying to do?”

He looked straight at her.

“The way you’re behaving today
it’s not professional. Is there something you want to tell me?”

He didn’t pretend. He knew something was off.

---

Cynthia slowly stood upright and faced him.

She took a deep breath.

“Oga
I won’t lie to you,” she said softly. “I like you.”

The room went quiet.

“I’ve liked you for a long time,” she continued. “From the day I started working here. I tried to ignore it because you’re married
 but I can’t pretend anymore.”

Emeka’s heart started beating faster.

“What are you saying?” he asked.

“I’m saying
if you want me, I’m available,” she said boldly.

---

For a moment, Emeka didn’t respond.

He leaned back in his chair, thinking deeply.

“I have always respected you,” he said slowly. “You’re a good woman, and I won’t lie
 I’ve noticed you too.”

He paused.

“But I’m married. I love my wife.”

His voice was firm, but there was hesitation in his eyes.

-aq

Cynthia stepped a little closer.

“I understand,” she said quietly. “But sometimes
 feelings don’t follow rules.”

Silence filled the office again.

The tension was heavy.

Emeka stood up and walked a few steps away, running his hand through his hair.

“This is not right,” he muttered.

But something inside him was struggling.

“This is just once,” another voice whispered in his mind. “No one will know.”

He closed his eyes briefly.

Then he turned back to her.

“Are you sure about this?” he asked in a low tone.

Cynthia nodded.

“I won’t tell anyone,” she replied. “It will stay between us.”

That was the moment everything changed.

What happened next was a decision Emeka would later regret.

He crossed a line he never thought he would cross.

A moment of weakness
 a moment of temptation
 and everything shifted.

After some time, the atmosphere in the office returned to normal, but nothing was truly the same.

Cynthia smiled slightly.

“So
this is the side of you I never knew,” she said.

Emeka didn’t respond immediately.

“I made a mistake,” he said quietly. “This shouldn’t have happened.”

Cynthia sat down calmly.

“Oga
life goes on,” she said. “But at least
 don’t forget me.”

She paused, then added:

“I’ve been having issues with my rent. My landlord is disturbing me. Can you help me?”

Emeka looked at her.

He hesitated for a moment
 then nodded.

“I’ll send you ₩1.2 million,” he said. “But please
this must remain a secret. My wife must never hear about this.”

Cynthia smiled.

“No one will hear anything,” she said confidently.

Later that evening, around 7:30pm, Cynthia got home.

To her surprise, Ada was already there, sitting and waiting.

Her heart skipped.

“Welcome,” Ada said quickly. “I’ve been waiting for you.”

Cynthia forced a smile.

“Madam
”

“What happened?” Ada asked immediately. “Did you try? What did he say?”

She leaned forward anxiously.

“Tell me everything.”

Cynthia took a deep breath.

Then she spoke.

“Hmmm
Madam, I won’t lie to you
your husband is a very disciplined man.”

Ada’s eyes widened.

“He didn’t fall for it,” Cynthia continued. “The moment I tried to get close to him, he stopped me immediately.”

“Are you serious?” Ada asked.

“Yes,” she replied. “He even warned me never to try something like that again. He made it clear that he loves his wife and will never cheat.”

Ada covered her mouth in shock.

“My God
”

“He kept mentioning you,” Cynthia added. “Saying he respects you too much to do anything wrong.”

Tears of relief filled Ada’s eyes.

“I’m so happy,” she said. “Now I have peace.”

She smiled widely.

“Thank you so much. You did a good job.”

She picked up her phone.

“I’ll send you an extra ₩300,000 for your effort.”

After Ada left, Cynthia closed the door and leaned against it.

Then she smiled slowly.

“Foolish woman
” she whispered.

“You just handed your husband to me.”

She picked up her phone and looked at the alert she received earlier.

“This is just the beginning,” she said quietly.

“My next step
is to make him mine completely.”

đŸ”„ I Paid ₩850,000 to Test My Husband
What He Did Broke Me đŸ˜łđŸ”„

Episode 1

“I think my husband is cheating on me.”

That was the thought that refused to leave Ada’s mind. For the past few weeks, she had been watching her husband closely, noticing every little change in his behavior. It wasn’t something obvious or dramatic. Emeka was still the same loving man he had always been. He still called her during the day, still brought her gifts, still held her at night and told her everything was okay.

But deep inside her, something didn’t feel right.

It was a quiet Thursday evening around 8:15pm. Ada sat alone in the bedroom, absentmindedly scrolling through her phone, but her mind was far away. She kept replaying different scenarios in her head.

“What if he is pretending?” she whispered to herself. “What if he is giving me love here at home, but outside
 he belongs to someone else?”

The thought made her chest tighten.

“I can’t continue like this. I need to be sure,” she said, dropping her phone on the bed.

That was when the idea came to her. Sudden. Dangerous. But convincing.

“I’ll test him.”

At first, it sounded crazy even to her own ears. But the more she thought about it, the more it made sense.

“If he truly loves me, he will resist. But if he doesn’t
then I will know the truth once and for all.”

Ada stood up and began pacing around the room. Her heart was beating fast, but she had already made up her mind.

---

Ada was married to Emeka, a man many women admired. He was responsible, hardworking, and generous. He made sure she lacked nothing. From money to attention, from comfort to affection, Emeka always showed up.

In fact, if anyone had asked Ada, she would have said she had the perfect husband.

But perfection without trust means nothing.

“I don’t want to be the woman who is being fooled without knowing,” she said firmly. “I need proof.”

And so, she decided to carry out her plan.

---

The next morning, very early around 7:45am, Ada left the house and drove straight to another part of town. She was going to see someone she knew very well — someone who worked closely with her husband.

Her name was Cynthia.

Cynthia had been Emeka’s personal assistant for over six years. She was intelligent, hardworking, and naturally beautiful. She carried herself with confidence, and people respected her.

As Ada drove, she couldn’t stop thinking.

“If Emeka can resist Cynthia, then I will believe he truly loves me,” she murmured.

A few minutes later, she arrived at Cynthia’s apartment and knocked on the door.

Cynthia opened the door looking surprised.

“Madam! Good morning. You’re here this early? Is everything okay?” she asked, clearly confused.

Ada forced a small smile. “Everything is fine. I just need to talk to you. It won’t take long.”

Cynthia stepped aside and allowed her in. They both sat down.

There was a brief silence before Ada spoke.

“I want you to help me test my husband.”

Cynthia frowned immediately. “Test him? Madam, I don’t understand.”

Ada looked straight at her. “I want you to seduce him.”

The room went completely silent.

Cynthia blinked, trying to process what she just heard.

“Madam
what do you mean?” she asked slowly.

“I want you to act like you are interested in him. Get close to him. Tempt him. I just want to see if he will fall.”

Cynthia shook her head in disbelief. “Madam, this is not a small thing. Why would you want to put your husband in that kind of situation? What if something goes wrong?”

“I need to know the truth,” Ada replied calmly. “I can’t keep living with doubt.”

Cynthia stood up and started pacing.

“This is risky. Men can behave differently when they are tempted. What if he agrees? What happens then?”

“Nothing will happen,” Ada said quickly. “The moment he agrees or shows interest, you stop. Tell him it was a joke. I just want to see his reaction.”

Cynthia folded her arms. “This is not easy.”

Ada leaned forward slightly and lowered her voice.

“I will pay you ₩850,000.”

Cynthia stopped moving.

The number hung in the air.

She slowly turned to look at Ada.

“₩850,000?” she repeated.

Ada nodded. “Yes.”

Cynthia swallowed hard. She had been struggling financially for months. Her rent was overdue, and her landlord had been disturbing her almost every day. She had been looking for a way out.

This was more than enough to solve her problems.

She sat back down, still thinking.

After a long pause, she sighed.

“
Alright. I will do it.”

Ada immediately picked up her phone and transferred the money.

“Please remember,” Ada added, “don’t go too far. I don’t want any mistake.”

“I understand,” Cynthia replied quietly.

---

After Ada left, Cynthia stood alone in her room, staring at nothing.

“This woman is playing with fire,” she whispered.

Still, she got ready for work. But this time, she made a different choice. Instead of her usual corporate outfit, she chose something more eye-catching. Something that would easily draw attention.

She looked at herself in the mirror and adjusted her dress.

“If I’m going to do this, I have to do it well,” she said softly.

By 10:20am, Cynthia arrived at the office.

She went straight into Emeka’s office as she normally did and began arranging files on his desk.

A few minutes later, Emeka walked in.

“Good morning, sir,” she said politely.

“Good morning, Cynthia,” he replied as he sat down.

Everything felt normal
 but it wasn’t.

Cynthia’s heart was beating fast.

“This is it,” she told herself.

She moved closer to his desk, pretending to organize documents. Then, suddenly, she dropped her pen on the floor.

“Oops,” she said softly.

As she bent down slowly to pick it up, positioning herself directly in front of him

Emeka raised his head.

Zara d!ed in the hospital, but three years later, her mother saw her selling sachet water in another state, wearing the same dress she was bur!ed in.

That same day, everything finally came to an end.

The moment Ngozi made that sudden move, Amara tightened her grip on Zara and shut her eyes in fear. Her heart was pounding loudly in her chest, and for a second, she thought it was over.

But suddenly, a loud sound echoed in the room, and then everywhere went completely silent.

Slowly, Amara opened her eyes.

Her breath seized.

Someone had fallen.

It wasn’t her.

It wasn’t Zara.

It was Daniel.

He had been standing close by without anyone noticing, but now he lay motionless on the floor.

Ngozi froze instantly. Her hands began to shake as she stared at him in disbelief.

“Daniel
?” she called softly.

There was no response.

Her legs weakened as she rushed to him and held him desperately.

“Daniel! Wake up
 please!” she cried.

But it was too late.

He was gone.

The entire room fell into deep silence.

Amara stood there, completely shocked, unable to understand everything happening around her.

Before anyone could react, the door suddenly burst open and police officers rushed in.

“Don’t move!” one of them shouted.

Chioma stepped forward immediately and pointed.

“Officers, that’s her.”

Ngozi slowly turned, her face filled with disbelief.

“Chioma
you set me up?” she whispered.

“Madam, you are under arrest for kidnapping and multiple crimes,” the officer said firmly.

Ngozi was handcuffed immediately.

The other women were also taken away.

This time, there was no escape.

---

Three months later, the truth came out.

Ngozi was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Everything she and Daniel built on lies collapsed completely.

Amara stood in court, holding Zara’s hand tightly.

For the first time in years, Zara spoke freely and told everything.

How she was taken.

How she was moved from one place to another.

How she was forced to sell water on the streets.

The courtroom was silent.

Some people couldn’t hold back their tears.

Amara cried too, but this time it wasn’t out of pain.

It was relief.

Her daughter was alive, and that was all that mattered.

---

Amara and Zara started a new life, far away from fear, far away from lies, and far away from everything that once brought them pain.

Peace finally found them.
