🚨 BREAKING 😱 Senegal National Team is declared to have forfeited AFCON 2025 Final - Morocco Awarded 3–0 Victory 🏆

The Appeal Board of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has ruled that Senegal have forfeited the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Final.

As a result, the match is officially recorded as a 3–0 victory for Morocco, with the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football confirmed as champions of AFCON 2025.

CAF stated that the decision follows findings that the Senegal team’s conduct violated tournament regulations (Articles 82 and 84), resulting in the forfeiture sanction.

Meanwhile, Morocco were also sanctioned for several incidents during the match, including fines related to crowd behaviour, ball boys conduct, and interference around the VAR review area.

Morocco midfielder Ismaël Saibari was additionally handed a two-match suspension (with one match suspended) for misconduct, while a previously imposed fine was set aside.

This ruling overturns an earlier decision by CAF’s Disciplinary Board and represents one of the most dramatic post-final verdicts in AFCON history.

Niger dumps French, adopts Hausa as national language. Niger military government has officially made Hausa the country’s new national language, moving away from its colonial past where French played a central role.

The change was announced in a new charter released on March 31, published in a special edition of the government’s official journal.

According to the document, “The national language is Hausa,” and “the working languages are English and French.”

Hausa is already the most commonly spoken language across Niger, especially in the Zinder, Maradi, and Tahoua regions. A national language is a band of national union.

Breaking: Court orders arrest of VeryDarkMan for defamation

ABUJA– An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Wuse Zone 6, on Thursday, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of controversial social media activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, VDM.

The arrest order followed a criminal defamation case that was brought before the court by a renowned female gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo.

In his ruling, Magistrate Emmanuel Iyana ordered the Nigeria Police Force and other law enforcement agencies to arrest VDM and produce him before the court to answer to criminal allegations that were levelled against him by the gospel singer.

The court noted that the defendant failed to honour a summon it issued on March 5, which directed him to appear for the proceeding.

Despite a passionate plea by counsel to the defendant, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, who was present in court, Magistrate Iyana declined to vacate the arrest order.

Adeyanju had begged the court to allow him to personally produce his client on the next adjourned date.

Specifically, VDM was alleged to have made defamatory statements against the singer through his social media page.

It allegedly claimed that Chinwo was involved in a contractual dispute over her purported diversion of the sum of $345,000 linked to her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as Eezee Tee.

Aggrieved by the allegation which she described as not only false but also injurious to her public image and reputation, the gospel singer, adduced before the court, documentary evidence that included emails and payment receipts, in a bid to establish her innocence.

The complainant’s team of lawyers led by Mr. Pelumi Olajengbesi, insisted that the defendant’s action was contrary to Sections 391 of the Penal Code and Section 24 (1)(B) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention etc) Act 2015.

It will also be recalled that Chinwo’s counsel had also instituted a N1.1billion suit against VDM before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The lawyer prayed the court to compel the defendant to delete, retract, and issue a public apology for all the alleged false and defamatory statements he made against Chinwo and her brand.

A petroleum tanker driver and the apprentice that accompanied the driver have lost their lives as a result of an accident that occurred in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The duo whose names have not been revealed lost their lives when the tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol exploded.

The incident occurred in the early hours of today, beside Total Filling Station, Orita Challenge, in Ibadan.

It was learnt that the fire incident was as a result of break failure when the driver was trying to negotiate the roundabout.

The tanker hit the concrete, somersaulted and caught fire.

General Manager, Oyo State Fire Service Mr Yemi Akinyinka when contacted, confirmed the incident.

TWO MEN THAT TRULY DESERVES HONOR

The passing on of the two most sincere and truthfully unbiased elders/statesmen (Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark) from southern Nigeria will be greatly missed. How both of them died within a week is a thing of surprise and certainly not a good sign.

They both spoke truth to power without fear and intimidation. The represent conscience and justice to the oppressed. The future looks so scary with their passing on seeing how scarce it has become to find men of integrity in this present Nigeria and our society.
