GOODWILL MESSAGE (NEW YEAR SPEECH) TO THE PEOPLE OF AKWA IBOM STATE RESIDENT IN OYO STATE, BY THE PRESIDENT OF AKWA IBOM STATE COMMUNITY, OYO STATE, CHIEF UTIBEABASI UMOREN, 1ST JANUARY, 2024.

The very good people of Akwa Ibom State resident in Oyo State, I feel delighted to have this opportunity to address you today as your leader. A time comes in the history of a people, a defining moment, when crucial and critical decisions have to be made, decisions which may shape the course of their history and create new frontiers of collective positive achievements. Having missed several opportunities in the past, it seems to me that for the good people of Akwa Ibom in Oyo State, the appropriate time, that critical, defining moment in time is NOW.
I say so because, the management of the affairs of our dear State now rests on our shoulders. It could therefore, be safely said that our progress will be determined by factors which we as Indigenes of Akwa Ibom, can influence to a large extent.
As experienced people in leadership, I make bold to say that capable hands abound here whose experience, coupled with the energies of the youth, the wise counsel of the elders and the steadying compassionate contributions of the women, under the guidance of a leader with a vision and master plan, can uplift AKISCOM, Oyo State to a greater heights. Here lies the challenge which history places on this administration and all of you which must be met with courage and a sense of responsibility.
It is against the foregoing reality that I issue the familiar biblical invitation to you as a discerning, patiotic and well - regarded Akwa Ibomites to come and "let us reason and build together AKISCOM of our dream".
We must succeed in our determination to continue to build a solid foundation for a viable superstructure that will drive the process of rapid development of Akwa Ibom Community in Oyo State and place our people at par with the expectations of the 21st century. We have taken the mandate, ready to leave indelible and enduring legacies, to continue to harness the strength and vigour of our youths while counting on the wise counsel of our elders in our drive to move AKISCOM forward, and as well empower our women and positive family values.
I use this medium to appreciate our past leaders who have built for us a better foundation that we have today.
This year, 2024 we shall all see the manifestation of the love of God in our lives, family and our businesses.
God bless you all.

Long live AKISCOM
Long live Akwa Ibom State
Long live Oyo State
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
