My Birthday Thanksgiving
Today I lift my heart in song,
To You, my Savior, Lord, and Strong;
Another year Your hand has led,
Your mercy crowned the path I tread.
Before my breath, before my days,
You filled my life with gifts of grace;
Through tender care from youth till now,
Your love has kept me, this I vow.
When sin enslaved, Your blood set free,
When sorrow pressed, You lifted me;
Your name brought healing, peace, and rest,
My song of life, my soul’s bequest.
Through dangers hid, through nights of fear,
Your unseen arm was always near;
Through sickness, trials, joy, and pain,
Your grace has brought me back again.
So on this day, my song shall be,
Of love divine that rescued me;
To God all glory, thanks, and praise,
Forevermore my heart shall raise.
And when my fleeting years are done,
I’ll join the saints around Your throne;
But even then, eternity’s song
Is far too short to praise so long.
