PRESS RELEASE
Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe Flags Off Agricultural Empowerment for Youths and farmers in Oluyole
In furtherance of her commitment to rural development and youth and agricultural empowerment, the Member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, over the weekend flagged off an Agricultural Empowerment Programme focused on the Development of Maize Farm Clusters across the constituency.
The initiative, held in rural communities of Oluyole, provided key agricultural tools and inputs to smallholder farmers and youth cooperatives. The distributed items include: tractors, bags of maize seeds and fertilizer, knapsack sprayers, herbicides, hand-pushed rollers, cutlasses, and other essential farm inputs.
Hon. Akande-Sadipe emphasized that the programme is aimed at enhancing food security, reducing unemployment, and supporting local farmers with the tools they need to thrive in modern agriculture.
"Agriculture remains one of the most powerful tools to tackle poverty and economic inequality. With the right support, our young people can transform rural economies, improve food production, and secure a better future for Nigeria," and as one of the oldest yoruba songs says she said “Ise Agbe ni ise ile wa…………”
The lawmaker, who also chairs the House Committee on Humanitarian Services, reiterated her commitment to replicating this model across other parts of Oluyole and partnering with relevant MDAs to ensure continued technical support and sustainability.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the intervention would significantly reduce the burden of input costs and enhance their productivity in this planting season.
