**A new development is currently causing reactions across the Southwest and on social media.**

Reports say that the Alaafin has given a Yoruba chieftaincy title to an Igbo man who is living in Lagos.
This decision has sparked mixed reactions among many people. Some believe that chieftaincy titles should strictly reflect Yoruba tradition, culture, and lineage, and they feel that giving such a title to someone outside the ethnic group may reduce the dignity attached to the institution.
However, others see it differently. They argue that Nigeria is a diverse country, and if someone has contributed positively to the community, the person can be honored with a traditional title regardless of where they come from.
Historically, Yoruba traditional institutions have sometimes given honorary titles to people who support development, business, or community growth. But the question many people are asking now is this:
Is this a sign of unity and inclusiveness… or is it turning the chieftaincy system into something else entirely?
What do you think about this development?
Should traditional titles remain strictly cultural, or should they be open to anyone who contributes to society?

Many people are seeing the news that some countries like India are rejecting the envoys sent by President Tinubu. Let me break it down in simple terms so everyone can understand.
The government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants to send new ambassadors (envoys) to represent Nigeria in different countries around the world.
However, some countries are not accepting the envoys right now.
The reason being mentioned is that some nations have a policy that if a government has less than about two years left in office, they may prefer not to accept new long-term ambassadors. They believe a new government might soon come in and choose its own representatives.
So in simple words, Nigeria is trying to send diplomats abroad, but some countries are saying they would rather wait.
What this means is that those envoys may not start work immediately, and Nigeria might have to wait or make other diplomatic arrangements.
International diplomacy sometimes works like this, and approval from the host country is always required before an ambassador can officially start work.
