STATES RECEIVE N435BN INFRASTRUCTURE, SECURITY FUNDS
State governments received at least N435.25bn for infrastructure and security between January and June 2026, according to an analysis of half-year budget reports from 29 states.
The funds, distributed through FAAC, were recorded under the “State Infrastructure and Security” revenue line, with no disbursement reported under the scheme in the same period of 2025.
Enugu received the highest dedicated allocation at N27.02bn, followed by Gombe with N24.50bn. Jigawa, Katsina and Ogun each received N19.50bn.
However, Adamawa, Anambra and Oyo reported no actual receipts under the dedicated line during the period.
Experts welcomed the increased funding but urged states to ensure transparency and proper utilisation of the funds for critical infrastructure and security.
