RESIDENTS SEEK ACCELERATED ACTION ON OYO/OGBOMOSO EXPRESSWAY

Residents within Ogbomoso town have appealed to federal government and contractor handling Oyo/Ogbomoso expressway to expedite action, towards completion of Owolaake/NTA axis of the expressway, to prevent trucks plying High School-Takie road in Ogbomoso.

The residents made the appeal in separate interviews with BCOS correspondent in Ogbomoso, Aderemi Akanmu, as congestion and road crashes along High School-Takie-Federal College road in Ogbomoso remain great concerns for residents of the town.

Residents attributed the challenges to ongoing work on the last portion of Oyo/Ogbomoso expressway, which makes trucks to ply old OyoOgbomoso road within town.

Two religious leaders, Revd Peter Eebo and Imam Rasheed Abdulazeez said though, work is ongoing on the last portion of OyoOgbomoso expressway, the federal government and contractor handling the road should pay more attention to the expressway towards completion of Owolaake/NTA portion of the highway to reduce road crashes.

Also speaking with BCOS News, an Ijala chanter, Mr Abel Adekola and an artisan, Elizabeth Ajayi said if the expressway is fully completed, trucks will definitely vacate old road within the town, thereby reducing rate of road crashes in the area.
