"It's quite disheartening to see some pastors prioritizing money above all else. I stumbled across a pastor message whose sermons revolve around money, money, money! He even went as far as saying he can't follow a spiritual leader who's not wealthy, kilode!. My take is that he's twisting scriptures to suit his own agenda - and that's not cool.
He quoted Proverbs 19:7, but out of context without comparing scripture with scripture. Pastors like him are causing a rift in the body of Christ. If it's all about money, why weren't the disciples billionaires, and Jesus himself? We celebrate spiritual leaders for their spiritual impact, not their bank balance,or any worldly materials.
This kind of teaching damages new believers and sends them back to square one. Let's stop manipulating people into giving money; let them give willingly. Christianity is about knowing God sincerely and serving Him wholeheartedly, not just about money money money kilode.
Consider the following scripture before your comment:
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. - 1 Timothy 6:10
You cannot serve God and money. - Matthew 6:24
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. - Luke 6:38
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.- Matthew 6:33
We should beware of false prophets and pastors who prioritise wealth over spiritual growth. Let's focus on genuine faith and serving God with a pure heart. True prosperity is not just about wealth, but about living a life pleasing to God.
Shalom!
