About the South West Games 2025:
Held from March 25 to 29 in Lagos, SWG 2025 featured seven sports: football, basketball, table tennis, boxing, athletics, volleyball, and archery. The event also introduced the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Southwest Alliance Games (BATSWAG), a sub-tournament aimed at discovering and nurturing the region’s most talented under-18 athletes.
The games were hosted at prominent venues, with archery competitions taking place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium. This strategic choice of location provided athletes with a platform to showcase their abilities in a world-class setting.
Looking Ahead:
The success of the Oyo State archery team at SWG 2025 serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes and underscores the importance of continuous support for sports initiatives. As the region looks forward to future editions of the South West Games, the achievements of teams like Oyo’s archers set a benchmark for excellence and a testament to the potential within the South West’s sporting community.
The collective efforts of organizers, stakeholders, and athletes have laid a solid foundation for what promises to be a transformative journey in regional sports development.
