Marriage is NOT an extension of parenting.

Marriage is a new unit that needs space to breathe.

When parents step into every small disagreement, they slowly strip their child of the chance to grow, decide and lead their own home.

What they call “concern” can quietly become control, and control no matter how loving breeds resentment.

Many parents believe they are acting in the child’s best interest, but sometimes they’re fighting yesterday’s battles with today’s marriage.

Times change
Homes change
A son or daughter who is old enough to marry is old enough to handle conflicts
Learn from mistakes, and build wisdom through experience.

When parents constantly take sides, give orders, or fuel complaints, they turn minor issues into major wounds and make reconciliation harder than it should be.

As a parent your real strength is knowing when to step back.

Give counsel when asked
Pray 🤲always, but allow the couple to lead their own home.

You raised them, now trust your work. Because a marriage cannot stand strong if outsiders, even loving parents, are always holding the steering wheel.

An elderly once said "tread softly so that you'll arrive safely"

Imagine allowing the overhype from some admirers to get into your head, until you begin to see yourself as more important than you really are.

Remember, not everybody likes you. While some genuinely want to learn from your knowledge or are eager to hear what you have to say, others are listening closely for a different reason—to spot your mistakes and turn them into mockery.

That is why you must tread gently, guarding your heart so that songs of praise do not turn confidence into arrogance or reduce your knowledge into prideful display.

So, let wisdom guide you not applause, because noise fades but character doesn't.

Marriage functions best when responsibilities are shared.

Both partners should contribute to decision-making, household duties, and family care based on understanding.

Don't form Mr Macho, act like a leader and stop forming an undertaker because obviously you are not in a ring.

Teamwork fosters unity. When partners work together instead of placing burdens on one person, marriage feels supportive and balanced, making challenges easier to overcome.
