You only use FOR when you are placing an order on behalf of another person:

I ordered rice for you. ✅
He ordered chicken for us. ✅
You ordered four pairs of shoes for Ruth. ✅

When you say, 'I ordered for rice,' it implies that you performed an action on behalf of the rice, rather than placing an order to receive it.

The Golden Rule: Never use FOR immediately after the word ORDER when referring to the item you are purchasing.

🚫 Stop making these common English mistakes! How many did you spot before reading the corrections? 👇

1️⃣ He was shocked by the electricity. ❌
He was electrocuted. ✅➡️ "Electrocuted" means seriously injured or killed by an electric shock.

2️⃣ I said my speech offhand. ❌I said my speech off head. ❌I said my speech by heart. ✅➡️ We use "by heart" when something has been memorized.

3️⃣ Shey you're whining me ni? ❌Are you pulling my leg? ✅➡️ "Pulling my leg" means teasing or joking with someone.

4️⃣ The police caught the tout fighting with the woman's daughter. ❌The police caught the lout fighting with the woman's daughter. ✅➡️ A lout is a rude or ill-mannered person, while a tout is someone who solicits customers or sells tickets illegally.

5️⃣ The baby has drank the milk Mom kept on the table. ❌The baby has drunk the milk Mom kept on the table. ✅➡️ After "has," use the past participle "drunk," not "drank."

6️⃣ She loves drinking pepper soup. ❌She loves eating pepper soup. ✅➡️ Pepper soup is generally treated as food, so we usually say "eat pepper soup."

7️⃣ I want to carry okada to church. ❌I want to fly bike to church. ❌I want to go to church on a motorbike. ✅➡️ This is the standard English expression.

🔟 I will pay the money installmentally. ❌I will pay the money in installments. ✅I will pay the money by installments. ✅➡️ The correct expressions are "in installments" or "by installments."

SPELLING ERRORS YOU MUST AVOID

-The pupils are playing in the PLAYGROUND, not playing ground.

- I don't like cooking with GROUND PEPPER, NOT GRINDED pepper.

- I need a TRAVEL BAG, not a travelling bag.

- We are having a party at my WORKPLACE NOT, not working place.

- I love the RING TONE NOT, ringing tone.

These words are often used together but remain as two separate words with a space between them
