Today is another Jumu'ah! 🤍

Dear sister, here's a gentle reminder about one beautiful Sunnah concerning women on Friday:

If you are going to the masjid for Jumu'ah, avoid wearing perfume or strong fragrance when leaving home.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Any woman who uses perfume and then goes to the people so that they can smell her fragrance is an adulteress.”
— Sunan an-Nasa'i 5126; graded Hasan

This doesn't mean a woman cannot enjoy perfume. Rather, the specific reminder is about wearing noticeable fragrance when going out among non-mahram men, including when going to the mosque.

So, sister, before you leave home today, check your fragrance, your clothing and your intention.

Let your Jumu'ah be about worshipping Allah, listening to the khutbah and seeking His reward.

And if you are praying at home, you can still make your Friday special with Surah Al-Kahf, abundant salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, dhikr and du'a.

May Allah grant us understanding of the Sunnah and the ability to practise it with sincerity. Ameen. 🤲🏽

Today's Islamic Reminder

Dear sister, remember that gratitude is also an act of worship.

Sometimes we focus so much on what we are asking Allah for that we forget to appreciate what He has already given us.

Your health.
Your family.
A safe place to sleep.
Food to eat.
The ability to learn.
The ability to pray.
Even the opportunity to wake up today.

Allah says:

> “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.”
Qur'an 14:7

So today, before asking Allah for something new, take a moment to say Alhamdulillah for what you already have.

And remember, gratitude is not only saying Alhamdulillah. It is also using Allah's blessings in ways that please Him.

May Allah make us grateful servants, increase us in His blessings and never allow our hearts to take His favours for granted.

Ameen.

Today's reminder for you

Dear sister, you don't need a perfect past to have a beautiful relationship with Allah.

Maybe there are things you regret.

Maybe there are acts of worship you haven't been consistent with.

Maybe there are things you wish you had done differently.

Don't allow guilt to convince you that you've gone too far.

Allah says:
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah.”
Qur'an 39:53

Today can be the day you return.

Make that tawbah (repentance).
Pray that salah.
Open the Qur'an.
Make the du'a.
Leave that sin.

Take one small step towards Allah.

You may have fallen yesterday, but you can still stand today.

May Allah make our hearts quick to repent, our feet firm upon obedience and our journey towards Him full of sincerity.

A little reminder for your heart

Dear sister, not every beautiful thing you do for Allah needs an audience.

Some of your most valuable moments may be the ones nobody knows about.

The du'a you whispered when you were worried.

The charity you gave without telling anyone.

The salah you prayed when you were exhausted.

The Qur'an you opened when nobody was watching.

The sin you walked away from because you remembered Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that Allah loves deeds that are consistent, even when they are small.
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6465; Sahih Muslim 783)

So don't wait until you have the perfect schedule or enough free time.

Start small. Stay sincere. Keep going.

Allah sees every effort.

May Allah accept the deeds we do in secret, purify our intentions and make our private relationship with Him stronger than anything people see from us.

Ameen. 🤍

Today is another Jumu'ah! 🤍

Sisters, here's your Friday reminder:

If you're going to the masjid today, remember that attending Jumu'ah is not obligatory upon women, but women are permitted to attend the mosque.

The Prophet ﷺ said not to prevent women from going to the mosque.

And when we go, let's observe the adab:
Modest clothing.
No perfume.
No unnecessary distractions.
Listen attentively to the khutbah.
Go with the intention of worshipping Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ specifically said:
“When any one of you comes to the mosque, she should not apply perfume.”
— Sahih Muslim

So sisters, Friday isn't just about looking our best.

It's about preparing ourselves to meet Allah with the right intention and the right adab.

And whether you're attending the mosque or praying at home, make your Jumu'ah count:
📖 Qur'an
🤲🏽 Du'a
🌿 Dhikr
🤍 Salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ
✨ Gratitude and repentance

May Allah accept our worship, forgive our shortcomings, answer our sincere du'as and put barakah in our Friday.

Alhamdulillah for a new day…

A fresh page.
A new opportunity.

Another morning Allah allowed us to witness when we could have been anywhere else.

May today bring answered duas, unexpected ease, genuine happiness, barakah in our work, and beautiful reasons to say Alhamdulillah again and again.

There's this old woman who lives close to my house.

I honestly can't remember the last time I passed in front of her house on my way to madrasah or out running errands without her praying for me.

And I love how she seems to have a different prayer for every kind of outing I'm going on.

When I'm on my way to madrasah, whether early in the morning or in the afternoon, she would say:

“O kare, Ọlọ́hun o fi yé yín o.”

And she'd say it to me and the kids.

On a normal outing, she'd say:

“Láyọ̀ lẹ́ẹ̀dẹ̀ o.”

Those little prayers from her always feel like my grandma is praying for me.

My own grandma has been gone for over 20 years now. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus.

So, somehow, this grandma's prayers give me that extra little confidence boost whenever I hear them.

I pray Allah preserves her, grants her good health and allows her to live long enough for me to invite her to my final haflah in the next couple of years.

Even if she won't be able to attend the madrasah party, I can always organise a small celebration at home so I can rejoice with this amazing family Allah has blessed me with.

Because honestly, who says family has to be connected by blood?

Sometimes, Allah places people around us who make life a little sweeter, simply by being good neighbours.

Alhamdulillah for good neighbours.

And may Allah continue to bless every elderly person who takes it upon themselves to pray for younger people around them.

Those little prayers may sound ordinary to them, but to someone receiving them, they can mean so much.

ANOTHER DAY TO BE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL TO MY CREATOR. ❤️

Alhamdulillah, I got another one of my exam scripts yesterday.

And yes, I didn't get the full marks this time, but I am still genuinely grateful because my hard work paid well.

I cannot come here and form genius when it comes to النحو.

I know my level, but I also know that I try my very best.

And that alone is something to be grateful for.
