It is now or never for Cristiano Ronaldo:

This is supposed to be the last of the reasons because Portugal should be considered first before any individual player.

However, participating in his 6th WORLD Cup, this should be the last ever world Cup Ronaldo will play.

The only reason why he could be dreaming of 2030 is, if Portugal failed to lift the trophy this year. Of which if i were him, i would accept the reality that, the World Cup is not part of his destined success.

If there is any current player who needs the trophy, definitely it is Ronaldo. This is not about the GOAT proclamation, it is about finding the only piece of the puzzle missing.

For a well decorated career for both clubs and country, the most important collective trophy missing in the cabinet is the World Cup. And the best time is now.

Therefore, as usual Ronaldo will go to the world cup with a great mindset of "Yes i can do it" and must be ready to accept whatever roles given to him.

At this point, the key player doesnt have to be him. Just like at Al-Nassr, when he was at the centre of their performances, the league didnt come. But as soon as there is another player giving him the much needed assistance, the desired result was achieved.

Since 2010 edition, he has always been the focused player to deliver for the country. Right now, age is no longer on his side. Most old aged players go to the tournament just for appearance sake. Ronaldo is not the same. He is going to the tournament with all eyes on him.

The best time for him to win is now. It will be a perfect retirement package for him.

So you wonder why this is enough reason for him to win? Yes, everyone especially the Portuguese player has relaized there is a need for them to step up, rise to the occasion and be more passionate to deliver.

It is not only Ronaldo's best opportunity to win, it is also theirs. The form of most of the players right now might not be the same in the next edition. By then, their age will matter. Their relevance as well.

Therefore, it is almost "Now or Never" for all of them.

Now that the 2025/2026 has been concluded, thanks to everyone who took part in the ride.

It doesn't matter if we shared the same feelings, what matters is that, we engaged with one another to make the season a remarkable one.

However, in the round leather game, the game always continues.

We shift focus to the FIFA World Cup which starts in the next 10 days, June 11th.

From today June 1st to June 10, i will be dropping one reason per day, why i think Portugal will or might win the World Cup.
