Shall we do some throwbacks
The year was 2008 I was just fresh off uni and NYSC (I don cast myself 🙄🌚) and I'd left Ondo to come to Ibadan to learn how to make music (I was already a good church keyboardist at the time).
A studio was opening on Ring road on Ibadan and my friend Sanmi Akinmusire (Na**lm) was the producer in the new studio, together with Victor Ayokunnumi Owolabi (Big Ishe) who was a sound engineer, Xodus Productions began.
I was one of the first interns there together with Felix Ogbebor I learnt directly from Na**lm and Big Ishe how to make beats, record and handle a production session on general.
That's where I also met Goke Bajowa and he made of of his albums in the studio. It was an incredible experience for me seeing the a sing being made from bare bones to a full record.
Xodus wasn't just a studio it was a meeting point for artists, managers, music enthusiasts in Ibadan. We really felt like the industry then was building up to blow and meet up with Lagos 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (yeah right 🙄)
Back then SplashFM 105.5 Ibadan was the biggest and freshest station around. Imagine how I felt within a year of making music and I had my songs on rotation in Splash FM 😂
Bk Bellisimo used to come around too, great guy he is, also 213 Entertainment a show promoter who would always drop (advertise) his flyers in our reception two or three days to his show. I never understood his strategy 😂😂😂 I made a song for Wyza Oriola then he didn't release it 😂🤦. At some point too I think Dremo came around. Of course I had my brother, partner in crime and music Vicar Tundey Atkinx always by my side 😂
It was fun times honestly. Imagine me church boy, fresh from uni in the midst of guys that were on the streets hustling..... T Money, InTro Omoruan and many other persons I can't even remember now.
Fun times it was. We had fights, friendships, beef, romance, alcohol, everything and I was a creative genius right at the centre.
